‘Chinese acting like Nazis’

Correct. China was never the civilization to wipe out others, not in its 5000 year history. Even towards the Xiogni, they didn't even do that.

Folks here have to stop being so sensitive . Aquino appraised Japan and went to Japan to request more investments , gave lip service to the Diet and made leglislators happy to hear such positive appraisal. This will reflect in this year's coming JICA ODA disbursement a....lol.

Folks here need to know this is common in geopolitics , and think outside the box.

Aquino should have not said it in public even if some people have the same views.

Though for once I would agree with Chinese members here that Aquino is really an incompetent leader (he only got elected because his mom died), but in certain fields of running the country, not defense issues.

.
We don't care how this Pinoy leader suck up with Japan in order to get Japan economic support but it's that right to label other nation as Nazis in order to please Japan and get what he want?, if you Japanese want to play down of what this pinoy leader said, we dont have problem with that but I hope you Japanese also know what call "wisdom" instead of blindly defend this bulshiting Pinoy leader...if you continue play this way, we will have plenty of opportunity to return you the same favor.

Did you watch the speech ? Lol

It was a wrong example for him to use. But folks here need to see that in his 18 minute speech , overwhelming majority of the time he was reflecting on Japan's contribution to Philippines, and reflected the transformational relationship btw Tokyo and Manila from inter war to post war to present. He makes a slight indirect reference to China but the purpose of his talk was to appraise Japan and request greater investments . Which will happen. Japan plans to double our ODA to Philippines , actually.

Folks here need to stop over dramatizing this issue. They should focus on the meat of the message not some tangential point he makes.

When the Philippines is involved, better abandon all hope for some Chinese PDF members (and other nationals) here, they will always see it as hostile.

hahaha! It's not personal buddy, you have to understand the Chinese culture and psyche.

How can I make it relatable to you in the Filipino context? Aha! I know !

Ever observe the Tsinoy family culture in Philippines? Observe the "Inchek Lola" in the family dynamic ? The Chinese Grandma? She is the maternal figure, loving very loving to her "apos" (grandchildren), but will give stern lip to family members that go against what she views as necessary. Either it be dating someone not of good upbringing etc etc.
And if you make an error, it is the responsibility of the grandchild or child to come to The Lola to make amends and restore the relationship.

That describes the Chinese mentality regarding the Philippines. In a way, it is very similar to how Japanese think as well. :)

I haven't observe any Tsinoys here in the PH though the description eerily resembles what I remember when I was young, even though none of the families on either my parent's side have Chinese ancestry.

Perhaps this passive aggressive aspect is common throughout Asian family life, lol.

Probably, though in the case of the Philippines, it seems even before the Spanish arrive, we have been integrating other people's cultures to our "original" culture.

Aquino has found the perfect partner to his balant ignorance in history in Japan; one doesnt know what the Nazis are, the other doesnt know the Potsdam Declaration.

All these are pretexts of more serious Asian troubles in the making

Well said, expecting more statements like this in the future.

Throw the Indians into the above basket too

Mr. Aquino's visit to Japan is very normal and he is right and prudent in seeking cooperation with and investment from Japan. But it is not common for the highest official of a country to call an entire nation Nazi at a press conference.

That's just another class, my friend. Especially for an amateur historian.

As far as I can tell, Mr. Aquino has just joined the ranks of Turkey's president in hate speech and blind hatred and racism. Turkey's Erdogan is an anti-Semite, anti-Armenian, anti-Syrian, anti-secular, anti-Alawite, and anti-Zoroastrian hate-monger and ideologue who makes insensible and deranged remarks on almost about anything (which is, first and foremost, an insult to the country's secular founding principles and anti-imperialist founding father).

This class of politicians is a disgrace for international diplomatic conventions and accepted discourse, to say the least.

We cannot simply ignore these remarks just because Mr. Aquino happens to be in Japan to seek some investment.
