However can you tell me, were the Boston bombers suffering terrible persecution before they committed their act of terrorism? Was Osama living as a beggar on the streets?
No, in fact they were living lives that many people would envy. You could have given the Boston bombers a new car every day for free and it wouldn't have helped.
The Economist is a British newspaper, and well maybe they can shed light on how a soft approach has worked for them. They are the hub of the Western world when it comes to extremism.
I'm not saying a hard approach is necessarily better, but the soft approach sure hasn't worked either.
