Russia will stick to the schedule on supplying Su-35 fighter jets to China under a military-technical deal between the two countries, Khabarovsk Territory's Governor Vyacheslav Shport told Sputnik on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In September, the governor said that the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KnAAPO), part of the Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company and one of Russia's largest aircraft manufacturers, plans to supply four Su-35 to China by the end of the year.

"I can say that today, all issues of supplying aircraft equipment as part of military-technical cooperation are proceeding strictly on schedule at the aviation enterprise located on the Khabarovsk Territory, and will be complete before the deadline specified in the contract. It's under my supervision," Shport said.

Earlier in November, the head of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) said that deliveries had not yet started but that the deal's implementation was underway.

Russia and China signed a contract on the delivery of 24 Russian Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets, estimated to be worth $2 billion, in 2015. Russia again becomes China's biggest oil supplier in October

https://sputniknews.com/world/201611251047821314-russia-china-military-cooperation/

On November 23, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russian-Chinese relations are currently at an unprecedentedly high level and continue to develop steadily. The comment came during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan in Beijing.

The Russian minister visited China for the 21st meeting of an intergovernmental commission on military and technical cooperation between the two states. This year's $3 billion in military contracts signed between Russia and China represents a significant achievement, the Russian Defense Minister added.

"We have serious achievements in the military and technical field. We have reached the level of about $3 billion annually to carry out a wide range of contracts," Shoigu said.

"They are all in varying degrees implemented within the framework of mutually beneficial military and technical cooperation." Chinese authorities have also praised the military cooperation between Beijing and Moscow.

Russia's dependency on the Chinese arms market is lower than it was 15 years ago, while Russia-China military cooperation is a lot more diverse and deeper than before, the expert noted.

Commenting on the figures voiced by Sergei Shoigu, Vasily Kashin said that actually the biggest year on record was 2002, when deals were made for $2.7 billion. In 2016 prices, adjusting for US dollar inflation, it would have been $3.6 billion, he said.

1990-2000s, China was the major market for the Russian arms. In certain years its market share of Russian arms exports reached 50 per cent.

$3 billion figure might have already been reached before the start of the scheduled deliveries of Russia's S-400 air defense systems and SU-35 fighter aircraft to China under 2014 and 2015 contracts.

MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. Russia will provide to China the first batch of four Sukhoi-35 jets by December 25, 2016, a source within the system of military-technical cooperation with other countries told TASS.

"The first four Sukhoi-35 are to fly over to China by December 25," the source said.

Originally the deliveries were to begin as of next year, but eventually a decision was made to speed up the process and to provide the first batch in the last days of the outgoing year.

In November, the deputy chief of the federal service for military-technical cooperation, Vladimir Drozhzhov, told TASS that Russia had started acting on the first phase of its contractual liabilities to China to provide the Sukhoi-35 jets.

Russia and China in November 2015 concluded a contract for 24 Sukhoi-35 fighters. Under the $2 billion deal Russia is also to provide ground equipment and spare engines.

As a source within the military-technical cooperation system told TASS earlier, the contract will be effected in three years’ time.

The governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, where the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft building plant (manufacturer of Sukhoi-35 planes) is located, earlier said the first four planes will be provided to China by the end of this year. A short while later, though, the head of Rostec corporation, Sergey Chemezov, said that no Sukhoi-35 planes will be delivered to China in 2016.

The Sukhoi-35 is Russia’s multirole highly maneuverable fighter (generation 4++) with a phased array antenna radar and thrust vectoring engines. It can develop a maximum speed of 2,500 kilometers per hour and fly 3,400 kilometers without refueling. The combat range is 1,600 kilometers. The fighter is armed with a 30-mm gun and has twelve bomb and rocket suspension units.

In November, Moscow and Beijing signed a contract on the delivery of two Russia-manufactured Beriev Be-200 amphibious aircraft to China stipulating an option to procure two more planes. The first delivery of the aircraft well suited to firefighting missions is scheduled for 2018. It can take in up to 12.5 metric tons of water in a few seconds while traveling over a body of water before dropping the load on the flames. One plane reportedly costs some $40 million.

In October 2016, media reported that China signed a contract on the delivery of 224 D-30KP2 engines worth over $658 million produced by Russia’s NPO Saturn Company. Fifty-four of them will be reportedly installed on Ilyshin Il-76/78 military transport aircraft operated by the Chinese Air Force while 170 units will be installed on China’s new Y-20 military transport plane.

PLA news portal: Su-35 intended to be last type of imported fighter

Four Russian Su-35 fighter jets were delivered to China on Dec. 25, ending speculations about the procurement of the aircraft, which had been delayed about two years, according to an article on 81.cn, a news portal of the People’s Liberation Army.

Since the debut of the J-20 fighter at Zhuhai Airshow, procurement of the Su-35 fighter jets has gone quite smoothly. Some say this is the outcome of the close relationship between China and Russia. However, the latter did not change its stance on the exportation of the Su-35 until the J-20 fighter was unveiled. Russia believes that with the commissioning of the J-20, the Su-35 will soon lose its value in the Chinese market. That estimation is the reason for the smooth procurement.

Today, the construction of China's first independently developed aircraft carrier is in full swing, and the first carrier battle group has already begun training.

The article offered an old Chinese proverb: "One can only be independent when he is self-reliant.” The article further expressed hope that the Su-35 fighter jet is the last fighter imported by China.

Why are the chinese members so nervous with this thread. Is this forum beholden to present news which they are comfortable with . Its a control sort of mentallity which does not like any narrative which punctures the supapowah china image.
On topic .. the chinese or Pakistanis in authority are well aware that when war breaks out fanboys on forums will not be of much use. Well proven reliable weapons like those procured from russians and americans respectively will be required.
You're still quite new here, perhaps you should spend some more time to read thoroughly around this board before spitting out your nonsense.... PDF is not a yahoo crap.

Most PDF members here are not nervous. It's true that words alone won't change the reality.... actions-speak-louder-than-words. Well, I admit only time can tell in absolute way whether India will be a supapowah or not in 2030 (or even in 2050... though the latter is beyond my earth time).

You said that only those weapons procured will matter because so far India is mostly relying on buying... not yet capable to produce the sophisticated ones... thus such thought fits well the prevailing mentality.

.
You are absolutely right . India does not want to depend on indigenous weapons and buys from outside . Difference being we are transparent about our capabilities while chinese are buying billions of worth weapons from russia , ukraine but want to close this thread because its embarreses them
You're definitely skillful at twisting words...but words alone even big mouthing won't make progress, won't change the reality either!
Let me remind you: China has the money to make such purchases, they don't interrupt its economy progress, and I guess it may somehow better than just buying the paper asset T-Bills. And keep on learning from the mighty Russian is nothing wrong while developing its own in parallel, personally I call the purchases of the top items are the smart learning ways to achieve the best winning practices.

What is bad is keeping on buying for lacking capability to make own, or becoming dependent on such practices protractedly.... but if you're a rich nation with some easy oil & gas bonanza like the Gulf Sheikhdoms then I'll forgive you and understand your comfort choices of ways of life :enjoy:

Equally important is helping out the ally, China is also lending a hand to its bosom friend, Russia, amidst the Western sanctions over Russia. Friend in need is friend indeed! Hand in hand they will deter the wild wild best adventures and help shaping a better world and more peaceful world for mankind...

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, the former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy under Ronald Reagan administration has following warning:

"...Russia and China had best hold on to their strategic alliance. Anyone attempting to break this alliance is a threat to both Russia and China, and to America and to life on earth."

The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation has declined to comment on the report.
