Dear Pakistani friend: Are you aware that there are 10 million Hui Muslims in China? Both Hui and non-Muslim Chinese citizens are a part of this project to eradicate Wahabbi extremism from the Uighur population.

Nothing wrong with Pakistan's friendly involvement. I am just pointing out that Chinese population is not monolithic either.

Yes but this can be done through us as well since like those western chinese muslims we r also very religious type practicing Muslims, unlike the general Hui Muslim population, hence their low credibility, infact let me tell u that Hui Muslims have no real credibility among Muslim Country too because of their general religiously non practicing nature. But the western Chinese Muslims r of different nature, they r actually practicing people.

So thats why i said! no matter what, always remember, we do have the best of intention for China..because its too much at stake for both of us....We will not misguide/brainwash them to turn anti china, rather do very opposite of that, unlike other countries.....If these people r supposed to have a foreign influence on them forever because of their religious nature then why not of yr own most trusted Muslim Friend's??

We have an antidote for Wahabism too which we did in our own country(remember, we were the worst hit country by terrorism not long ago?). But its a long term process and all the while u can constantly monitor everything.

Eventually one thing is guaranteed! they will no longer hate China afterwards and will play their part in yr national development fully by joining mainstream.

China is not discriminating Muslims in anyway. China is trying to deal with a minority of Muslim extremists without letting outside forces exploit it as an opportunity to destabilise Xianjiang.
We have seen the same thing happening in Tibet and while China acted harshly against a few troublemakers China did not oppress Tibetan Buddhists. If anything Buddhism is now doing better in Tibet.
After failure to create unrest in Tibet the same people are trying to create unrest by radicalizing the Uyighurs.

China is doing what Pakistan should have done long time ago before it earned the nickname "terroristan" where even cricket teams are terrified of visiting. Pakistan needs to learn lessons from China. Not the other way. We can't sort our own house but have habit of lecturing others. Just unbelievable. What next? Are we going to get Finance Minister Asad Umar giving Chinese advice on economy?

China doesn't care about religions, what China cares is social disturbance under the pretext of religions. If Fa lungong weren't openly being against the government, probably they would be ok.

Some religious radicals started riots and mass killing of civilians in Xinjiang, that's crossed the line set by the government.

Unjust laws are to be fought against and not followed.
China should definitely be heavy handed with terrorists and extremists. But this is like blaming an entire population for acts of few.

Find the terrorists and give them the most gruesome death but don't treat every person from a particular community with suspicion

What China does is to maintain peace and stability in China, it won't endanger any other countries teritorial integrity, peace and stability. What some countries support is to destablize China and undermine China's territorial integrity. Non interference of eath other's domestic affairs is the bottomline of the Chinese foreign policies.

Has China not done the same thing by helping Myanmar expel nearly 1 million Rohingya to BD in 2017?

Please understand that China needs to respect other countries to get respect back.

As someone who used to be very pro-Chinese, the Rohingya incident has completely changed my views about China. It seems to be no better than the US with little to no moral values.

We don't have a religious affairs minister. Even having a minister like that is against common sense. A government that seeks to regulate something as personal as faith and beliefs will always be disappointed.

We already have the higher moral ground, since that minority economic council member was removed due to his religion. If BJP in India had discriminated against a meritorious person from a minority they wouldn't even get 1% votes in 2019

Pakistan, China's closest ally in the Muslim world, openly criticized its treatment of its Uighur population, a majority-Muslim ethnic minority living in the western Chinese region in Xinjiang, earlier this week.

It marks the strongest condemnation of China's repression of the population yet.

Noorul Haq Qadri, Pakistan's federal minister for religious affairs, warned that Beijing's strict regulation of Uighur activity fuels extremism rather than counters terrorism, Pakistani media reported.

"The placement of restrictions increases the chances of an extremist viewpoint growing in reaction," Qadri told China's ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Xing, on Wednesday according to Dawn newspaper.

His comments directly challenge China's justification of its crackdown on Xinjiang— known to Uighurs as East Turkestan — which are that it counters terrorism and is "training" people to avoid religious extremism.

Qadri on Wednesday also called for a softer approach from Beijing to curb intolerance and promote religious harmony in Xinjiang, Pakistan's The Nation newspaper reported.

He also proposed for Pakistani religious scholars to visit Xinjiang.

Yao appeared to agree, reportedly saying: "Exchange of viewpoints between religious scholars of both countries is vital for better interfaith relations."

Yao also invited Qadri to visit China, Dawn reported, although it's not clear whether this would entail a trip to Xinjiang.

Li Xiaojun, a spokesman for China's state council information office, told reporters last week that sending Uighurs to detention centers was "not mistreatment," but "to establish professional training centers, educational centers."

Turkey spoke out against China's treatment of Uighurs in 2009 and 2015, which resulted in Beijing repeatedly warning Istanbul not to "twist facts" or "poison ties and derail cooperation" between the two countries.

Whether Islamabad will suffer the same fate is not clear. Pakistan is China's biggest economic ally in the Muslim world, with the two countries forming in 2013 the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor — a massive $62 billion partnership consisting of transport and energy projects.

China has invested between $1 trillion and $8 trillion in its BRI deals around the world, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. The BRI is one of Xi Jinping's pet projects.

That is literally what happened a group of Pakistani scholars will visit Xingiang (again) to evaluate the situation
