So this basically can 3D print pictures?

I guess with this I can have statuettes of people from a pictures, like cosplayers.

U need using CAD Software like 3Dmax / Pro/ENGINEER / UG / Solid Works etc to draw the 3D model, then export STL file ... the FDM 3D printer start to work following ur STL file. U'd better is a Mechanical Engineer. Or using the 3D Scanner to get STL file.

The 3D print can't print statues by picture ... U'd better familiar with some CAD Software to draw the 3D model first.

Even though it requires other programs, this is still very interesting as 3D printing has a lot of possibilities.

3Dmax / Pro/ENGINEER / UG ... u can spent some time to learn one, then u can print anything what u like with a 3D Printer =).

The AutoCAD + Pro/E or UG is basic CAD tool for a Mechanical Engineer working in China, 3DMax mostly used in Interior decoration & Animation field.

if you're new to 3d cad, i recommend moi3d. moi is very powerful nurbs modeller, cheap, tiny program and the shortest learning curve of all 3d cad programs that i've used. the only downside is it lacks dimensioning tools. it's no big deal though, because there are many workarounds
