What's new

China's first made passenger jet

I was speaking about the reality.

You guys make good car, it is true. But when it comes to the aerospace industry, then it is another story.

Our domestic auto industry is 100 times sh1ttier than the South Korean one, but when it comes to the aerospace industry and the space program, we are 100 times ahead of them.

See, I am totally honest here.

Japan hasn't showed anything exceptional in her aerospace industry.

One thing for sure, passenger airplane booming market is in China right now. We control the market with many state owned airline. They will be asked by state to buy domestic airplane no matter what outcome of the airplane. It a sure win situation. But that cannot be say for Japan. The booming market is not in their domestic control. IF they go overseas , they still need to compete with embraced, Airbus and Boeing.

COMAC aircraft is safe in China market. They are free from competition.

Mitsubishi Regional Jet already has 223 orders, that's just on its first year. I believe MRJ will have an auspicious future. :)

Best wishes also to COMAC and the Chinese domestic aviation industry. Ganbare!

Japan won't allow to have the independent aerospace technology.

The US won't allow them to become an aerospace powerhouse.

. .
Can MRJ really survive with just 223 orders?

MRJ was just launched , literally 4 months ago. In a span of 4 months , 223 orders were already made by 7 airlines. We expect at least by end of 2015, orders should stand at 500 or more. Really off to a great start early into its first year.

China's new superjet will take to the skies for the first time in test flights later this year.

The C919, built by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), will be the country's most ambitious effort to date to break into the global aircraft market.

The latest pictures have shown the final assembly work on the nation's first single-aisle airliner, which is currently under construction in Shanghai, is well underway.

The single-aisle twin-engine jetliner has been designed to go head-to-head with Boeing's 737 and Airbus A320 in the lucrative aviation market.

Assembly of the first prototype airframe is almost complete, says People's Daily, with the main landing gear and forward landing gear also now installed.

Some major works - such as the installation of the avionics, flight control and hydraulics systems - are still to be completed.

SKY HIGH STATISTICS: HOW THE C919 COMPARES TO BOEING 737

COMAC C919

Wingspan: 35.4 metres

Cruise speed: Mach 0.76

Maximum altitude: 12,100 metres

Passengers: 168

BOEING 737:

Wingspan: 35.8 metres

Cruise speed: Mach 0.74

Maximum altitude: 12,500 metres

Passengers: 210

The various systems will then have to be fully integrated and rigorously tested before the test flight, which is scheduled to happen before the end of this year.

The various parts of the aircraft - including the nose, front and middle fuselage, wings and tail sections - were designed by the corporation and manufactured in Chengdu, Shenyang and Harbin.

COMAC are reported to have already secured more than 450 orders from 18 different customers, most of which are believed to be local airlines and leasing firms.

The manufacturer is targeting 2017 for C919 certification, with first deliveries also scheduled for that year.

China is keen to develop a successful commercial aircraft to prove it can match the developed industries of the United States and Europe.

Airbus has forecast that China's domestic aviation market will become the world's biggest within the next decade.

China’s air-passenger traffic will increase 8% annually from 2013 to 2032 - compared with an expected global annual growth rate of 4.8% - as many more affluent Chinese passengers take to the skies.

It is hoped that an official date for the first test flight will be announced in the near future.

Apart from the fuselage, wings and tailplane nearly everything else is imported. The Chinese will need 5-10 years to make the plane fully indigenous.

Actually you forget about design capability. For instant, maybe Singapore Aerospace company can make a fuselage under licensed, no big deal, but the important different with other major aviation industry in Asia like in China, India, Japan, or Indonesia is that Singapore aviation hasnt designed any plane yet. It is not a simple thing to design a plane.

Actually the problem was more due to poor maintenance and mis-management.
Chinese trains are exported worldwide including to India.

What an expert! Fancy you quote one example out of so many if China train is as bad as you claim. Why China train managed to sold worldwide?

Why Brazil one never breakdown on first ride? Why singapore one never breaks down on first ride? Why malaysia one never breaks down on first ride? Why turkey one never breaks down on first ride?

Pleas take your cheap shot some where. You indian must be stupid to buy Chinese train for new dehli one.
