China's first deep-water rig to drill in South China Sea

Same old boloney. Can't you guys come up with something more innovative?

So you saying Vietnam control the actions of the Philippines. Any proof of that?

.
The Chinese don't even call it the "South China Sea." They call it the "South Sea." It was the British who mapped it as SCS and the ocean facing South Asia, the "Indian Ocean."

Don't know about SCS but Indian Ocean or "Hind Mahasagar" is how the sea facing India is being called for ages..

Stirrings over Spratlys
YET to completely extricate itself from the scandal over the scrapped national broadband network deal, the Arroyo government is again entangled in another brewing controversy concerning two agreements the country entered into with China and Vietnam to undertake seismic studies of the Spratly Islands.
Certain areas of the disputed territories in the South China Sea have been the subject of joint marine seismic undertaking (JMSU) agreements — the first signed between the Philippines and China on September 1, 2004 and the second signed between the two countries and Vietnam on March 14, 2005 — to conduct research on their petroleum resource potential as a pre-exploration activity.

Clearly Vietnam wants the whole SCS and that's what I though. Good luck then. Once Philippine changes side none of the ASEAN nations is with you now.

Hehehe, it's not easy for another ASEAN nation to join in China's side(except Laos-Cambodia are always in our side) simply bcz US control them all and China is still too weak to do the same like US.
