China’s Defiance of International Court Has Precedent—U.S. Defiance

sure they are powerful enough. They been denying Indian permanent seat in UN for ages.

UN seat or veto is no indication of power , they are just vestiges of bygone era.

. .
Problem with China is , they are still living in past. They need to come to present and accept the ground realities and move ahead.

That's very biased, because, if the dispute was not one of sovereignty, that could be possible (such as fishing and joint development agreements, which can be done with no reference to history).

But the dispute is about sovereignty and it is strongly historical. Otherwise, without taking history into account, no country's territorial integrity is safe.

UN seat or veto is no indication of power , they are just vestiges of bygone era.

As a matter of fact, it is. Otherwise, you would not be standing at the door with many others. It is the highest global office at present.

Nation- state is still the highest political unit, in my opinion, although you may have grades of sovereignty depending on the counties' political independence. But, it is very hard to function outside the framework of the UN. Once you are in, you will always be less powerful than the P5.

That's a fact.

I wonder why Iraq and some many other sovereign countries didn't bring US to the tribunal when US invaded them?
That is because Iraq first invaded Kuwait!
But now Iraq is getting ready to do just that; Sue the US.. it was on some news

Iraq didn't do anything the second time you invaded it, of cause you claimed that they had WMD which turned out to be the biggest lie in the history, what about so many other small countries US invaded after WWII? Check Wikipedia and there is a long list

China is so sure that the verdict will not be in its favor...so they have again proved it themselves that they are the aggressor and bullying the neighboring countries...

You think China will deliver a good verdict on India's favor over Kashmir? so can someone say the same over India that India prove itself as aggressor and bullying Pakistan?...India will one day be judge on Chinese tribunal court, and we shall see what will happen :pop:

UN seat or veto is no indication of power , they are just vestiges of bygone era.

We have the power of Veto, India don't, so you tell me who has more power...LMAO

 That is very interesting. Let me try to illustrate your point..

India hung on to territories curved up by their Colonial Master that they could not historically relate to (That is the past)

India in refusing to negotiate or settled these disputed land border and the ground realities that they are controlled by the adversaries. (This is the present)

China has settled all its land borders with every neighbor except for India and perhaps Bhutan (500 sq. mile) whereas India has to deal with its colonial past and is fighting with everyone of them neighbour including Myanmar.

:coffee: Then seriously tell me why is India begging for a seat at the UNSC?

I don't understand what Indian are trying to say or do in here!

India trying to sneak into NSG through the backdoor when they can be welcome through the front.

.
clearly you dont have an iota of knowledge regarding UNSC,

PRC became member of UNSC in 1971, earlier it was Republic of China<Taiwan> which was the permanent member.
In late 1950s & 1960s, western countries including Russia was in support of awarding UNSC seat to India, instead of PRC getting the
seat when Republic of China<Taiwan> was not able to foot the bills.
But stupid Nehru blinded in hindi-chini bhai bhai rhetoric, declined the seat and asked US and other powers instead give the seat to communist China<PRC>, Nehru was a blunder to India, stupid shit was living in fool's paradise and was thinking himself as a leader of NAM movement.
But I am pretty sure you chinese wont be educated in these things. Propoganda CCP propoganda :D

That's basic historical knowledge, which is not revolutionary.

China has been a P5, be it under the KMT government as in the past, or, as it is now, under the CPC government. The fact is, China as a nation has been a founding and continueing member since 1946.

China's seat at the UNSC did not change in 1971 in terms of power, only political recognition changed.

Where did you get the source? Don't talk about PRC or ROC, they all represent China at some time of the history. it is China who won the war thus being awarded a seat in UNSC. P5 are all victorious nations of WWII who got the honor with they blood and great sacrifices, what India would be there for? The entity of India did not even exist in the end of WWII
