China’s bomber could reach Malacca Strait, says expert
By Deng Xiaoci Source:Global Times Published: 2018/6/2 0:28:39

Chinese bombers including the H-6K have the capability to cruise Malacca Strait, military analysts said after reports stating that China's People's Liberation Army Air Force carried out landing and taking-off drills on some islands in the South China Sea.

Lan Shunzheng, a military researcher, made the statement in an interview with the Science and Technology Daily published on Friday.

"It will be no problem for H-6K to cruise the Malacca Strait, if taking off from Chinese airports in South China," Lan said.

The PLA air force announced on Sina Weibo on May 18 that it had deployed several bombers including H-6K, and carried out landing and taking-off drills at an unidentified island airfield in "southern sea area" after carrying out simulated strike training on targets at sea.

"PLA air force's drills signify that it already has the capability to cover the whole South China Sea, including every nation in the region, way beyond merely the Malacca Strait," Song Zhongping, a military expert and TV commentator, told the Global Times.

Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Ren Guoqiang said at a routine press conference on Thursday that the PLA air force will continue to deploy planes to circle Taiwan, commenting on a recent deployment of H-6K bombers to cruise the island at night on May 25.

Of cos , it can come. More so, it can point the finger at you and you cant even touch it. :enjoy:

It has stand off missile of range 2300km. May I know what is your range of your AAM? Not even 230km.

.
If that missile range is what mill make you come close than you will still have to be 2300 km away.. that's called hiding behind the sofa. Come close as boasted by your general and you will be be roasted like a Beijing duck. [emoji23]
What does straights of melaka have to do with india?

If security is a concern then it is up to South east asian countries who faces the Straights to decide (malaysia, indonesia, singapore, thailand) what to do.

Malacca chokepoint is the gatekeeper/entry point to our zone of interest in the IOR. We have andaman at its mouth and have loaned sabang island from indonesia to deal with any PLAN misadventure, nip it in the bud at the chokepoint before it can enter the open seas. Its not important for us territorially, but strategically.70% of chinese oil imports also goes through the area.Certainly SE asian countries can act as they wish,we welcome it.We can't tell them what to do,we infact are co-operating with them and have signed pacts with singapore and indonesia.

LOL we show mercy on Taiwan because it is a civil war but we show no such mercy to India.

LOL India can do nothing against either our bomber or the cruise missiles they carry. It would be a total slaughter of Indians again.
