China's Beijing-Shanghai high-speed train transported 100.231 million passengers this year, increased by 27% compared to last year. It is estimtaed the total number will reach 106 million.

Currently a Beijing-shanghai line high-speed train starts out every 4.5 minute, which is already saturated. The government is investigating to compress it to 3 minutes. And construction of a second Beijing-shanghai high-speed rail line is to be discussed.

A second Beijing-Shanghai HSR?

Just a little over 3 years after the 1st line was opened?

Freaking hell。:D

Maybe the current operating speed should be brought up to what the line and the trains were designed for?

Well,at least it won't be needed to build the 300km Shanghai-Nanjing stretch which is already served by 2 HSRs.:enjoy:

China is definitely at the beginning of an infrastructure boom with countless areas to develop and bring on par with the most developed nations in terms of logistics, transportation, sanitation, irrigation and public hosing.

Way to go! Invest billions!

Still there are people in the West holding on to the notion that China might have blown away trillions building up its much needed infrastructure。

These are precisely the people who have practically zero knowledge of China。

And these people happen to think that they are somewhat smarter than Chinese。:D

Probably forced and given free tickets to hope on the train to create a notion that we are moving ahead!

Besides, if investing in infrastructure were not good for China, rest assured, the west and their lackeys would not spread stories of China's trillions blown-up for nothing. So long as they are sour and grape, China is doing good.

I remember reading in 2011 how China wasted billions upon billions on HSR because nobody will use it because they are too poor to afford it.
