China's 5G Fighter 'a showoff'

Got a question, a good one infact.

Why does the Russia 5th Gen jets, have a longer steel point on the nose, and the J-20 and F-35 does not?

.
As 10 years in experience in this field worked for raytheon and boeing engineerin, the RUSSIAN are far from completing this project... Americans truly believe j-20 is inferior to t-50/Pak fa... these chinese fanboys can dream all they want but it very definite that the Pak fa is far from completion, and according to some speculations... Pak fa is supposed to come out with 2-3 more prottypes with each changing it's structure ... it is too look completly different from what it looks now, besides the paint they have on is production paint... imbeciles

Learn to respect pal. Everyone has his own opinions.

And you are saying the J-20 won't evolve from its prototype? Did you or are you working on the J-20 project or something?

To say the Chinese are incapable of producing original ideas is pretty bigoted and racist.

And every thread of yours have to do with China bashing to some extent:

Give it a rest, and learn to respect even if you don't agree with them.

Kinda surprised that this kinda language comes from an "educated" person.

Okay, I'll bite. What programs did you work at Raytheon and Boeing and what did you do in it ??
Don't tell me it's top secret, because it's not. I've worked defence contractors too a long time ago.

You can throw all your money away at the Russians but the T-50's intake layout is as pathetic as it gets. Which other 5 Gen fighter uses a fan blocker? :hitwall:

Oh The F-111 introduced in 1967 does. :yahoo:

The F-111 has fan blockers for RCS reduction purposes? News to me considering my years on them...

different airframe design of the 2 planes

Do you know what a prototype is? From your profession, you should know well of what it is.

Well, the canards are questionable. There has been a lot of debate over this, including something called "plasma stealth".

China is still a developing country. Developing a fifth generation aircraft takes time until it is considered 'appropriate' for service.

The same for F-22. It took time to develop.

At this point, its hard to say much about the J-20.
Good Heavens...Not this 'plasma stealth' nonsense again...

Having seen the discussions here, I have concluded that this 'plasma stealth' pretty nonsense :P

I just really question those canards on the J-20. How are they going to keep the plane 'stealthy'?

"rip off of mig1.44" i guess u r sayin the airframe design

here we go

mig1.44
-delta wing
-air intakes placed side by side under the fuselage
-active integrated (close-coupled) canard
-serrated canard
-trapezoid tailfins

J-20
-cropped-diamond wing
-convex strakes/ chine
-DSI air intakes placed side with the fuselage
-far-coupled canard
-diamond nose
-swept back tailfins

well, may be more but ill just leave it. chinese member feel free to add.

ok than LCA is a miraj as per ur proof
looking similar have nothing to do with being a copy

To work for Boeing as an engineer, you'll need WA Security Clearance.

The way you can't stitch one complete English sentence together without making at least 2

grammar or spelling errors, sorry to say, can't even clear the entrance of a Motel lobby,

and you "cleared" WASC?

yes, even fancy to be a Boeing Noir Lounge Doorman, you'll need

WASC + speaking understandable English, too, fanboy.

Douglas Barrie, an aerospace expert at the International Institute of Strategic Studies, noted that the J20's airframe resembled that of an abandoned Russian prototype, the MiG 1.42.

"I'm not sure that its even much of an impressive airframe," said Richard Aboulafia, another analyst. "It looks like something that might have been designed in 1985."

For the most part, China's combat aircraft programme has lagged behind its competitors in the west and Russia.

China's fourth-generation combat jet, the J-10, appeared in 2006 – but experts say it compares with western aircraft that went into production two decades ago. Beijing has also struggled to develop the Shenyang J-15 carrier-borne jet, reverse-engineered from the Russian-made Sukhoi 33.

China's fifth-generation fighter programme, experts say, faces several critical challenges as it moves forward from prototype stage to actual production.

For example, Chinese avionics – the software-controlled electronic systems which gave modern combat jets their cutting-edge mission capabilities – are believed to be a generation behind their US, European, Israeli and Russian counterparts.

It is also unclear what kind of engine the new Chinese jet will use. Some commentators have suggested that a new prototype engine, the WS 15, will power the J20. The engine, however, is some years away from going into production – and potential foreign suppliers will be cautious about supplying equipment, because of fears over cloning.

Last summer, Russia threatened to cut off supplies of jet engines for China's JF-17, saying it had been cloned from its Sukhoi 27/30 and MiG 29 aircraft – and was being sold for $10 million less than the original.

Illya Kramnik, a Russian expert, said that "despite the strides made by China's aircraft designers in the last 20 years, China has only slightly narrowed the technological gap dividing it from the global leaders."

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Richard Aboulafia, an aviation analyst with the Teal Group, an aerospace and defense consulting firm, said China is still years away from perfecting stealth aircraft.

“It’s certainly stealthy-looking,” Mr. Aboulafia said. It looks like it’s got some of the faceting and some of the shaping that characterizes the front of the F-22, for example.

“But then you look the details and you realize this thing is just sort of cobbled together,” he added.

Take, for instance, the canards: forewings close to the nose of the aircraft that provide maneuverability. According to Mr. Aboulafia, “There’s no better way of guaranteeing a radar reflection and compromise of stealth” than adding canards to the aircraft.

The same goes for the engine nozzles, which Mr. Aboulafia said were clearly not designed to be stealthy, as well the large overall size of the aircraft.

these type of engineers are major reason for failure of Boeing projects .lolz

where is pak fa RAM coating? did u eat it? where is the yankees radar blocker? did russian have it?

how china lagged behind russia when russian come up with a non-stealth 5th gen fighter claiming will use yankees tech radar blocker to save its exposed fan blades?

I highly recommend this 2 hour NOVA F-35 documentary 'Battle of the X-Planes' to everyone, especially the Indians talking nonsense.
