Is the above map for the HSR still valid?
Judging from the comments above
1.Kunming to Hanoi will not be there
2. Hanoi to Phnom Penh will not be there

Without the vietnam section how does the ring-HSR work out?

According to original HSR project, there's East-line: KunMing to Hanoi and Hanoi to Phnom penh to Bangkok exist.
Im just trolling ... :coffee: but line from KunMing to Singapore is the most important and 1st time to build now.

With China government's funds + Chinese workers + China companies + China's HSR technology, China influences and "Made in China" will be WINNER. When this high-speed-rail come ture, most imported & exported cargoes from China can directly into Singapore-to-Malacca by trains don't pass South China Sea, more cheaper and safer.

.
Well, i know there's a East-Line project.

My question is, Which high-speed system running on it ? Who offer building funds ? Which company join it ? If it's still a part of China CRH railway-net in SouthEast-Asia nations, China is the winner !

The East-line, it's not the most needed coz every lines connect to China,YuNan is our goal. I think Vietnamese can wait for more than 4 years. Remember, China's high-speed-rail NOT FREE, we will get back more from Vietnam..
a Malaysia company (Giant Consolidated) builds the HSR, not sure what system will be used. A New Zealand bank (Rich Banco Berhad) provides the $5bn credit.

Vietnam is the winner, too, since we get access to HSR networks without paying a high sum on the project.
 i think they still welcome Chinese more than VNese, following China can bring more benefits.
have you read the article?
the Lao people are wary of you Chinese. but they love when we come. Laos is traditional a vassal of Vietnam.
besides we are the biggest investor in Laos. Loser.

"With China already the second-largest investor in Laos, after Vietnam, many locals fear the railway is further evidence of how their country is set to become an economic vassal of Beijing."

.
Vietnam is actually shaped such that a single HSR is enough to serve the whole of the country。

U have no choice, only to purchase China's CHR system. If others, VNese will play it alone it's incompatible.
Anyway the most important Middle-line KunMing-to-Singapore had started to build now, ur guys can waste time to continue discussing East-line for years.

So the vietnamese line runs on your own from north to south? Or is it connecting to others built by China?

since 100 years, there is a railway connecting China and Vietnam via Kunming and Hai Phong. The railway uses 1,000 mm gauge, low speed rail. What we need is an upgrade to HSR.

May be Vie has too much jungle , project might be very difficult.
actually the most obstacle in building HSR in Vietnam is site clearance. the still poor infrastructure drives the cost,

indeed China company has a chance in Vietnam. The government is avaluating options, including offer from China. the latest price tag for the Japanese Shinkansen is $40bn.

but besides price and cost, there is another factor: politics. Depending on how Vietnam evaluates the current and future Sino-Vietnam vs. Japan-Vietnam relationship, the government will opt for or against China HSR.
