What's new

China wishes to shift industries to Pakistan: Iqbal

Chinese make ganesha idols...they even rip off old handicraft designs that have been traditionally made in the sub continent..They even have all varieties of mangoes growing albeit fake ones for e.g.

I look at the chinese nation as a big corporation (because that's how they run their country) that kills the domestic industry completely. .raw material to end products...manipulate weak nations like pakistan, Sudan etc with their loans and handouts while doing nothing to actually rid them of their internal issues and dominate them as vassal states. Big corporations follow such policies. .when people are as fallible and desperate then it's easy to manipulate them.

.
Hope there us mutually beneficial relation to both economic partners , we can benefit from the modernization of industry by cooperating with China

There is far greater potential in school & university sector as well to properly train next generation of Engineers and Doctors

I hope our local industries won't be effected negatively by this :/

If our chinese friends setup indsutries related to local raw material like cotton, rice, wheat, meat & milk, sugarcan, fruits and dry fruits, vegetable, Packing, agri engineering, bio fuels etc then there are more business opportunities, more jobs for local Pakistanis, and more earning for Chinese friends because Pakistan is rich in all of these resources and also huge potential in gulf markets if properly marketd them with stadarized packaging with competative pricing strategy because india, srilanka, filipines, bangladesh these countries gaining more from gulf markets in consumer products even they are more far from Pakistan to gulf countries but due to good marketing they are gaining more if you check gulf countries markets they are filled with indian, srilankan, bangali, and filipinies products Pakistani products looks 5% share only comparing to 90% from these countries and Pakistani Businessman not taking any big benefits from these markets.

as long as Pakistani's think with their brains and not with heart. and don't mix business with friendship they are fine otherwise, Chinese will take over the local markets and kill the local businesses.

Most of our local industries are rubbish piece of rip-off taking advantage of near monopoly..its better for them to compete and churn out good products...or be shut down..

Chinese are now growing as biggest investors in USA and Europe..its not about killing the industry all the time...

Huh?

I guess that's why the guy I elected last time is called the "HK Chief Executive".

I'm not even joking, that's actually what we call the leader of HK, the Chief Executive.

China is also setting up coal-powered power plants which they themselves are phasing out in 2020.
Pakistan has the 4th biggest coal reserves in the world, so it is OK for Pakistan to have Coal Powered Plants. This works for Pakistan and may be different for China.

Pakistan and China are adding new infrastructure projects to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in a bid to connect underdeveloped areas with developed ones, said Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal..

I've been saying this for two years now (even with so much negativity I used to get from both, Pakistanis and Indians :enjoy:). And Now this is ALL coming together .

Pakistan will go right above or below Australia in economic rankings in the next 10-12 years. Granted peace, stability, democracy remain working and the terrorism mess is all cleaned up.

The Chinese labor is aging and have become more expensive. Pakistan has over 120 million young people between the ages of 15-22 and 60% of the adults from this pool, have basic education and about 35 million with college degrees. So China will capitalize on this labor pool.

China's main issue remains English and other languages compared to India. Pakistan doesn't have that issue as English is spoken widely in the country and a small course can bring people up to speed as its not a new language to them. So China plans on using the Pakistani labor and will setup the base to compete against India's labor market. One of the MAIN reasons why India is hell bent in stopping and destroying the CPEC project at all costs.

So the Pakistanis will be getting a LOT of investments and training and manufacturing business from China in the years to come. By the end of 2030, the estimates are that the CPEC would've crossed a Trillion in investments and would be producing over $ 300 billion of revenues per year from all trade and business activities, which essentially doubles up the Pakistani economy within ten years. Not to mention that this is just China specific. Add trade with the US, Europe, Canada and other countries. The Pakistani economy after 2025 will be moving towards a 2.5 Trillion mark :enjoy:

Perfect summary of what CPEC stands for:pakistan::china:, Pak-china trust and co-operation is unique in this world right now, which dosen't exhist anywhere else.
A strong china with No-1 economy in the world supported by a trusted ally(Pakistan) which itself will be Top 15/10 economy, with a workforce of 200 million, Seems like a great investment for china

You got the first part right. But not the second one......the Chinese economy is slowing down and India will be the 1st economy in the next couple of decades. The US and the West would put in a lot of $$ to make this happen. But nevertheless, Pakistan will still climb to the top 10th or 11th spot. The only caveat is that a democratically elected system, no terrorism, peace and stability need to continue for the next two decades without any interruptions!!
