You mean the locals don't enjoy the gardens in their city? :woot:

When you pass by the same garden everyday, you learn to not give a f*ck about it. :bounce::bounce:

Beijing has a lot of centuries old royal gardens

Actually no, a pleasant and neat environment has an unconscious positive long term effect on your mind, even though you don't see it as something special.

I for example still love to take a walk in my neighbourhood with the many gardens every weekend, because it soothes my mind.

There is no denying that Chinese cities are truly the prettiest I have seen.

Not just Beijing or Shanghai but every place I have been.

This is something to emulate.

According to Newsweek, China is one of the best countries in the world for women.

The Best and Worst Places for Women

And yes, I have seen women going to bars and drinking alcohol, same as men.

Are Chinese people religious? Also any difference in culture in main land and HK?

Most Chinese people are atheist, but a lot of them practice Taoism/Confucianism/Buddhism and Chinese folk religion.

Every Chinese city has its own culture, and every Chinese province has its own culture. All these cultures are considered to be a part of the same underlying Chinese culture.

like Chinese_Dragon said, China is one of the best places for women overall. there's still too much superstition here, hopefully within 20 years we will stamp all that nonsense out. superstition is the #1 threat to human rights in China.
