It said China win over Iran again after 10 years. That means China first win on Iran for over 10 years, it does not mean China did not dominate the Basketball Court in Asia. Fact is China won Asian Championship in 2011 and Silver in 2009 (lost only to Iran) and only missed the title and top 5 altogether in 2007 and 2013 told a different story

You do know US was intentionally excluded from FIBA Americas Championship just to give other a chance............
And even they do not have the FIBA point for that, they still top the chart with 1000 points (by wining both Olympic Game and FIBA World Cup) compare to Spain, the second place 715 points....

It would be a LONGGGG while for China to catch up on Spanish level, would be a longer run to catch (if they can ever do it) the greatness of the Dream Team, and playing with the Minor Asia team does not help Chinese Clause.

I dont think it will be that long. It just a matter of investment and Chinese interested. Soccer is still the number one sport in China. And the hype of NBA seems to fade away in China.

To be honest, FIBA Asia should allow Australia in Asian tournament like FIFA, China dominance in Asia is just like Australia dominate FIBA Oceania

It's like US dominate FIBA tournament to a point they were exclude from FIBA American Championship to give better chance to other Americas team. I mean was there any doubt Chinese will lose to Philippine which ranked 31? FIBA Asia need Australia to balance out otherwise there are no competition in Asia



To be fair, the game was close, Chinese won because they shot better 3 point then Philippine, and Philippine give out more foul and Chinese been able to convert those foul into points. That why they win by 11 points

Post Game stats never lies FG is quite similar (24/64 China vs 23/65 Philippine) but the 3PT stat play the 9 point margin (9/24 China and 6/24 Philippine) and FT make up another 6 points different (21/33 China and 15/26 Philippine) All the while the Chinese lose out on 2PT which make up the 11 points different.

Well, all I can say it's a close game, and Philippine lost mainly because the 3 PT wasn't as good as Chinese.

All I can say is yeah, Philippine should be the one to watch for next championship

btw, i expect chinese professional busketball league will be the second most valuable basketball league in the world next only to nba in the near future, as what chinese soccer league did, us$1.3 billion for 5 yrs business right, basketball league will be comparable to that. u will see more and more nba players like micheal beasley, jr smith playing in china's league. but no, china will not recruit them into national team.

Well, again, you can expect whatever you want, but the truth is quite far behind it.

Both Soccer and Basketball have a audience base because that's where they grew up on. The fact is, by saying what you just said, you have grossly misunderstood the true value why NBA and Euro League is the top League in both Soccer and Basketball.

It's NEVER about money. It NEVER about star player, it's about attitude and culture of the game. Do you know league like Russian League pays considerable sum than most NBA team paid to their player? And you don't see big gun from NBA move to Russia, that's because the culture is not right. it's like if you want to be a movie star, you go to Hollywood, if you want to be a basketball star, you go for NBA. Or you want to become a famous footballer, you go play with UEFA.

Let me tell you something, WNBA is considered the least paying league in the world, in fact, the current transfer record for any female Basketball player are from a Chinese Club buying the right with an Aussie player for USD$500,000 but do you even know if you talk about Women Basketball, US is on the top, and Australia is the FAR Second?

Don't underestimate the game mate. China is a LONG way to even be close to secondary basketball culture like Spain or Argentina, let alone the US
