China wine anti-dumping probe sparks French anger

.
China spends billions of euros each year importing wine and other liquors from the EU。

These guys are dumping their cheap stuff in the Chinese market by selling products at prices much lower than local brands command。

It is high time to put a stop to this practice。

BBC News - China wine anti-dumping probe sparks French anger

LOL at the French, you still think you got Napoleon on the throne? OR that China will be pushed around.

Wake up call EU, at this moment in time, we are superior to you. You screw with us and we will screw with you.
Thank you Genesis for sending China messages to the world.
Did EU hear that China are superior to you. Watch out world the evil dragon are awaken.

lol at the bots coming to defense.

Several Chinese companies (state owned) and wealthy individuals have bought property in those parts. I don't see how this investigation into alleged wine prices dumping will help their case. It could be just prosecution of those Chinese which decided to unload their money in the west because they feel it is not safe in China.

You people are deluded anyway as evident from the People's Daily editorial:

"We have set the table for talks, (yet) there are still plenty of cards we can play," the newspaper wrote. "China does not want a trade war, but trade protectionism cannot but bring about a counter-attack."

A declining Europe needs to understand it can no longer laud it over other countries, the paper added.

"Times change and power rises and falls. Still this has not changed the deep-rooted, haughty attitudes of certain Europeans,"

China has more cards to play in EU trade dispute - People's Daily | Reuters

if there will be any trade war, China exports much more to europe then Europe to China. Loss of those exports is something the CCP can ill afford, especially now that it has to keep up with the charade of soft landing. It would mean either masses of laborers fired or going on the government subsidies. Either way, it weakens the state.

What's even better, if EU companies close all the doors of the factories in China, there would be even more lay-offs. If you annull the Airbus deal you are left without the technology transfer you are seeking so desperately for those COMAC flying coffins. That's why the editorial barks so much. Zhong Sheng knows his hands are tied.

:omghaha: it's funny to read a Chinese complain about cheap stuff. That's why you import European, to not drink your cheap stuff grown on dirty land.

Do it son.

In a brief response, a European Commission spokesman told a daily news briefing that there was no dumping or subsidy of European wine exports to China and the EU authorities would defend their wine producers. He declined to comment on concerns about a trade war, saying Brussels did not use such terms.

Germany is absolutely against this trade war and dumping accusation on the sun panels. We, the engine of European economy, will be the biggest loser in this trade war and thus will drag down the whole EU economy. What the EU commission did is utterly stupid and counter constructive to our current economic situation. 60 % of value creation of the imported sun panels are made here in Germany. Now with this dumping penalty, we don't create one more job, but also lose the 60 % value creation as well.

How moronic is that?

Some links for the 60%. iirc you only export cheap raw materials out of which the panels are created. And cowtowing to unfair practices from China will truly drag down the whole EU economy.
It is not stupid, it is counterproductive but only in the short term. i really wouldn' dare saying if you are a German or not, however if you are:

On the solar panel market
Highly innovative EU companies are currently being exposed to immediate threats of bankruptcy because of unfair competition from Chinese exporters, who have taken over more than 80% of the EU market and whose production capacity currently amounts to 150% of global consumption. In 2012, China’s excess capacity was almost double total EU demand. The Commission’s assessment indicates that imposing provisional measures will not only secure the existing 25,000 jobs in EU solar production, but also create new jobs in the sector.

In the short term, some jobs could be lost among companies installing solar panels. However, as the situation of EU producers improves and imports from other countries increase, these jobs could be recreated. Any job losses would in any case be substantially less than the 25,000 jobs in the EU solar production industry that are likely to be lost forever if measures are not imposed.

Hello dumbass, don't post stupid comments about economics while you don't even know how to calculate GDP and GDP growth.

Learn economics ABC first.

aww. you bothurt? Lack of arguments and presence of personal insults in your post do point at that possibility if i may say so.

In 2012 our exports to China increased by 5.6% to reach a record €143.9 billion, and
they have more than doubled in the past five years, contributing to rebalancing the
relationship. The EU is also China’s biggest export destination, with €289.7 billion in
goods in 2012.

Is this enough knowledge of economics if i say you can loose twice the amount we can loose?

It's time to crush the bankrupt dinosaur continent economically. Their economies have already collapsed with staggering unemployment, it's time for China to deliver the crushing blow.

The AFASE* Prognos study on which the effects were calculated was found to be wrong on the basis of 2011 data when the PV industry was at it's peak. Employment already went down from then. I read this in one of the press releases, i'll try to find the link.

China hits back at EU wine over solar panel duties | Reuters

I don't know why people think China wants to be the top Wine making country. Sure we like Wine, I personally like it, but we also have our own alcohol, which I prefer for most times. We are not a wine drinking country if you were to compare our alcohol spending and wine relative to say Spain.

Besides, Wine is European, it has to come from Europe, you wouldn't drink Chinese tea grown in Czech would you.

As to Chinese unload their money, Chinese economy at this point is not proven. Give another 20-30 years of stability and growth, that won't happen anymore. Americans use to save money in England and Europe, does that mean America should suck today?

As you guys like to point out we are an authoritarian and you guys democracy. We can do things on the fly and without opposition, can you guys? Sure we would lose some, but we don't have to care about those guys. You think the French government can ignore French businessmen who give money for their campaigns as easily as we can.

You think French can change the rules as easily as we can?

As to close factories, if they close, they will lose ton of money and China can easily buy it back and immediately rehire these people. But even say we can't do that, you think French businessmen are so patriotic that they would lose millions to billions just to spite China?

And we have screwed with EU, many times, where have you been the past 10 years or so?

Lastly, it's hilarious you think the EU can defend their wine, if China wants to persecute them. We don't have to charge them, just stall them until they say uncle.

.
France is no longer the wine capital of the world. Because of climate change, there are now better places to grow grapes and make wines from them. Chile. Australia. Canada. The US. Just to name a few.

The French as always have no idea what it is facing up to.

The market for fine wine in China is enormous. When China impose a certain level of import tax on the Frenchy wines, France will do what it did best in WWII - surrender.
