China breached Indian airspace twice in March, a minister said Wednesday, adding the intrusions were reported to Beijing to "facilitate maintenance of peace" between the two Asian giants.

Chinese helicopters flew into Indian airspace on March 16 and 19, Defence Minister A.K. Antony told parliament, specifying that on the first incident two aircraft illegally crossed the militarised border into India.

Both airspace violations occurred over India's mountainous Himachal Pradesh state, which shares part of its border with Tibet, the defence minister told parliament's upper house in a statement.

"Incidents of transgressions, intrusions are taken up with the Chinese side through established mechanisms such as hot lines, flag meetings, border personnel meetings and normal diplomatic channels," Antony said.

"These mechanisms facilitate maintenance of peace," the defence minister's statement said.

The disputed border between India and China has been the subject of 14 rounds of fruitless talks since 1962, when the two nations fought a brief but brutal war over the issue.

China claims all of the northeastern Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh as well as other areas in the northwestern province of Kashmir.

Chinese military infrastructure build-up along the frontier has become a major source of concern for India, which increasingly sees Beijing as a longer-term threat to its security than traditional rival Pakistan.

LOL  its much similar situation to you also.just like American SEALS raided your Abbotabad town with out any notice .

Dude, you cannot compare those with the Indian situation.

They can just as well be the faults of the pilots.
In Pakistan's case, the drones and the helicopters(in separate instances) came WAY TOO MUCH inside their territory and killed whom they wanted to kill.

How come your pilots never have these "faults" in Chinese airspace? Better trained?

. . . .
but you are superpower u can stop china

If we think they will dare to fire on our citizens or soldiers, we would have stopped them long back. We know that the most these helis would do is come in a few metres and go back - complaining peacefully is more than enough for that.

We may not be a superpower, but we are strong enough of a power that nobody will dare to send drones and helis into our territory and fire on our people with impunity and keep doing it over and over again. Neither do they come in to do military operations inside our military cantonments while the whole country remains clueless. Thats the difference, and its funny that such obvious differences have to be pointed out to you.

In fact most self respecting countries in the world won't suffer that fate. Not just superpowers, but no military worth that name will make its people get bombed by foreigners repeatedly. A stray helicopter once in a while a few metres into the border is just not comparable.

Or Chinese Media suppresses the news. You want Indian Minister to acknowledge Indian violations.

Even pakistan didn't shoot down the Indian chopper that strayed into their territory. Military professionals are not as trigger happy as people here on PDF, during peacetime - there are civilised ways of doing things.

Dont we have some SAM sites to shoot down such an intrusion??:sniper:.
MInisters need to start giving solutions than just saying "Chinese violated our airspace"...
