China-UK (Britain) Geopolitics and Economics: News & Discussions

The data is wrong.

That was an all-round lecture.

This is what really matters.

China, UK to sign deals worth over £30 bin during Xi´s visit.

China, UK to sign deals worth over £30 bln during Xi's visit

China and the UK will sign more than £30 billion of business deals during President Xi's state visit.

What's wrong with kowtowing other countries are doing that too, look at abe's japan kowtowing to obama and vietnam kowtowing to tpp.

Indeed. Looks like it is not a British thing, even if the argument is warranted.

Of course, it is pure stupidity. Britain is no Japan or Vietnam in politically kowtowing to others.

Pleased to meet you: Chinese basketball star Yao Ming was greeted by Prince William at King's College in ‪‎London‬ on Monday.

Yao Ming, 7ft 6in, was meeting the Duke of Cambridge, 6ft 3in, at King’s College London to continue their campaign to end the trade in ivory and other products.

Brits are shrewd and view everything through the prism of national interest. That's actually why the China-Britain relationship has such a strong chance of success. Nobody is walking into the relationship with idealistic or unattainable expectations. Nobody thinks the relationship is based on affection or friendship. But we both know cooperation is very mutually profitable and beneficial

This is the most talented geopolitical strategy that played by world powers over decades. UK and its smart move again are booked in history.

China card played by the UK, we would not imagined years ago, vividly unfold before world nations. It is a huge leverage in UK's EU tact, a stronghold of soft power connecting the US, now China, and even guaranteeing Briton's sustained economic future and making London the world financial center for the next century by rooting Chinese Yuan.

The UK reinforce its influence as a world power, and it will enjoy a "special relationship" with both the US and now China, the two superpowers in this century.

Kudos.

Both are island nation, but see how the UK is by far smarter and more strategic than Japan.

Since the UK is a former superpower, while Japan is always a stooge who always needs to follow someone else.

It's sad and I am sorry for Japan.

Japan today is more like the Philippines in its political mindset. Mindset will result in some harsh reality that Japan will face in the future if nobody stand up and undo the trend.

Japan once got a chance to rule over Asia and to become a superpower, but they just blew it.

This was a perfect opportunity when China was extremely weak, and the annexation by Japan seemed to be imminent, but they still couldn't grasp a such golden opportunity.

A true superpower wouldn't let a baited big fish to swim away like this.

The short sighed mentality of the Japanese has already showed that they are not suitable to become a dominant power or to rule over a large country.

Japan wanted to be a US across the East Asian landmass but failed because it lacked the resources to sustain it.

Japan is always a US by heart.

But it is nowhere near in capability and sustainability.

That's their dilemma. China needs to judge Japan not by its capabilities, but by its intentions. And prepare accordingly.

Undeniably, the Anglo-Saxon is so much superior compared to the Yamato by considering their respective achievement.

Only the Chinese can challenge the Anglo-Saxon, and no one else can do that.

This is the only reason that the US can give a free pass to Russia, to Iran, even to Cuba, but not to China.

Also, unfortunately, out of Japanese Pan-Asianism there arose a bloody colonialism, rather than harmony, Asian union and mutual development.

Ever since, every small/medium country in the region is bloody scared of any sort of Asian unity/bloc and instead seek external balancing -- out of their historical experience under Japan's co-prosperity sphere.

This opened up for greater US presence, which is destabilizing.

Japan, in that sense, made a major disservice.

Nobody has shown just how China can add 22 trillion dollars in 15 years to be twice as big as USA is now, even if USA achieves zero growth. All these claims are nothing more than hot air (and some wonderful Chinese fireworks). :D

I have no problems with CHina rising ( though I think that the per capita the US has now cannot be matched by china in a long time). If they do, good for them.

But What I do know is this---- under all circumstances UK's POV arounf that is completely irrelevant. UK taking sides is similar to Luxembourg takins sides- who cares?

I don't even know what you guys are talking about anymore. What 'challenge? Is it not true that the success you're blaring about is essentially because of the adoption of free market policies pioneered by the west? When you are using their own techniques to grow, does it not show that their view of the world was better than yours?

Photos of the British Royalty welcome Royal Guest: Xi couple. China is rising as the US declines, Britain can’t ignore this reality, now Britain export need China market and investments from China, their leaders working for this - Chinese new money. 女王也拼了~!
