China-U.S. joint venture Carnival Cruise Shipping unveils new fleet brand of China built cruise ships

. .
Why doesn't China have any high quality domestic entertainment oriented companies? All of the top destinations in China whether they are cruise ships or casinos or amusement parks are all due to joint ventures with American companies like Disney or Vegas Casinos or Carnival Cruise Ships. Seems like domestic Chinese companies are very lacking when it comes to creating amazing customer experiences.

China has many, like Wanda, Evergrande... they all have big amusement parks, Ocean parks and resort complex in all across China.

In Beijing, the biggest amusement park is Happy Valley

Cause Chinese consumers only started spending on entertainment maybe 15 years ago. Wanda cinemas is big here but big theme parks are normally JVs with American brands, everyone wants to go to Disney land, not panda land man, that's the power of US softpower. Entertainment and media is our weak point.

For cruise ships, 15 years ago, people wete saying for houses not cruise trips. Jvs are the best way to learn to run the business.

Some very very good points that people should really ponder about as to why. I'm going to say an innate fear of being seen as a failure in the public eye makes Chinese society risk averse.

This is not an answer that people would find reassuring. You can't be looking for somebody's hand to hold all the time.

This whole ship is a risk

What hand, its money babe. You bring in some entertainment induce competition and make money. That's how the world rolls, the Chinese government don't hate American entertainment nor food, they just don't like American hegemony. It is America who is trying to contain China not China trying to contain US. So just because i don't agree with US foreign policy, challenge US dollars, compete tevhnolgically, i need to hate McD and stop drinking coke? Stop living like a redneck bro, this is not some zero sum game. I don't rejoice over 1.09mil dead Americans.

Probably could sail along the coast, so a route from Hong Kong to Singapore, or perhaps a route from Hong Kong to a resort in the Philippines. The Philippines has a lot of resorts on the Northern part of Luzon.

Not 100% of the time. Walt Disney did not make his first park primarily because he was looking to make money. He thought it would be a fun thing to do next to his Burbank movie studio. Then when he saw the land near it wasn't big enough for the things he wanted he started hiring people to find some place that would. When they found a good size piece of land he just was like kid at a candy store and just started adding all sorts of stuff until it was a spectacle.

Walt Disney died in the 60s? The is no business like show business, the Soviets didn't get it, the Nazis didn't get it and i hope we get it by learning from the best media spinners.

China must learn to spin like the US corporatocracy. Spin 1 mil deaths into victory and spin invasions into acts of valor. It worked so well fanboys like you seriously believe GI Joe is the good guy.

Correct he saw Disneyland but never saw his ultimate dream project DisneyWorld. After he died his company took his plans and built it anyway (many of the rides were designed by him personally) just like Apple did with Steve Jobs personal plans for a new donut shaped headquarters.
