Listen guys forget that its US and China. every individual is advised to spread their risk, China would be stupid to not slowly but surely reduce its dollar holdings. And stupid is something which trhe chinese govt is not. They cant dump it over a short term as they bid on dollar will fall like a stone but it is as inevitable as day follows night. Why can I see it and some of you cant its very very simple. World govts across the world in the last 10 years have reduced their dollars as percentage from 70 to 60% over the last 10 years. China will continue buying and selling but the trend will be to reduce us dollar holdings. I wouldnt even be surprised if the chinese already assume that they will lose x% when the dollar hits the tipping point and there is no come back

Since English is your 3rd or 5th language, go read my first post again. Tariff will be on "imports from Made in China" items and not the country itself. Even American company products have made in China on them.

Corporations use Chinese labor because there are no unions and labor standards. Yuan is pegged to dollar and is depressed. Yes, there were corporations who did not procure goods and material from China, they lost the fight with the ones who procured goods from China. So no, the US government cannot mandate Corporations US or other-wise to buy american. What they can do is, Impose tariffs and levy other restrictions.

China buying US debt weakens American position over trade imbalance with China. There is already a storm brewing in US over this issue. Without Treasury bond, China will lose it's bargaining chip and US will slap steep tariffs on all made in China items. Also, Treasury bonds are safer bet then any investment in Intel or Boeing.

You beat me to it.

look at you two scrambling over each other to foam the at the mouth. In all honesty go out campaign against China in the next election. Start a grass roots movement, donate money. Go at it.

It's still an Investment theory of party competition in the end and it's US corporations that is stripping America of industry. (hint they have more money/influence than you)
