Maldives have always been a good friend of India and we've maintained cordial relations along with sending our troops during the 1988 Maldives coup d'etat and we wouldn't mind doing it again if a country asks for help or if GoI feels the necessity irrespective of whether it is a muslim country or not

Mohamed Nasheed’s call for foreign intervention is immature and highly irresponsible. It violates the principle of non-interference. Ergo, China, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia will insist that India does not interfere in Maldives internal affairs.

China already issued the call. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will follow suit.
