Good to see China investing in Bangladesh, we need lots of investments in key industries like shipbuilding, motor industry, light goods manufacturing and services such as banking. I think with our manpower and huge cost advantages it will be a very profitable venture.

All I can say is keep an eye out now, and see Bangladesh change in the comming decade.

Investment is made with the expectation of returns.

These returns do not necessarily need to be financial ones.

Strategic gains and goodwill are often more valuable than financial gains in a geostrategic context.

Chinese investment is always wanted and welcome. Bangladesh values chinas assistance and friendship. In return for investment Bangladesh undoubtedly offers good return.

But Bangladesh china relationship is more than just economics . It's multidimensional and benificial to both countries interest.

Well, China invested in Bangladesh in many different occasions for their own strategic reasons. It is really surprising if you look at the results. You see, although Chinese invested for their own good, It is Bangladesh who gets most of the benefits of the investments. I don't know, if they did same on purpose to keep the door open for investment or is just a coincident.

On the other-hand, You'll see all the investment India did in Bangladesh definitely for their own good but turned out to be a massacre for Bangladesh. Bangladesh never gained from Indian investments.
