No country can make another country a middle income or a rich country !! The people in the country themselves oly have to work harder to make their country a better one !!
If history is anything to learn by, other country have oly made rich countries into poor countries !!

Good for BD:tup:
It will bring in investment n industry to ur land...

But i don't know what do the Chinese meant by ''Middle income country by 2021'' i mean even if BD grew by 7-8% with the so called Chinese assistance it'll reach to the level of Pak at max by 2021 n thats no where near middle income standards...:undecided:

Anyways the news is good for BD:enjoy:

Is that what China did in India??

Yeah thats what China does in Sri Lanka...

They will help but not make... Bangladesh will become middle income country much earlier then that or may be already it is if we consider economy based on 2005 base year...

Bangladesh for now wants to raise per capita GDP to 2000 usd by 2021...

http://www.defence.pk/forums/bangladesh-defence/179226-plan-sees-2000-per-capita-income-2021-a.html

In 2000 when base year updated from 1985 to 1995 GDP was revised by upgrading it by 30%. This time we are expecting more higher revision when it will be upgraded to 2005 base year as huge number of industries are not counted in the present GDP calculation which will be added in the 2005 base year.

look at this single firm....
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is a technology-driven USD 12.8 billion company.

They will help but not make... Bangladesh will become middle income country much earlier then that or may be already it is if we consider economy based on 2005 base year...

Investing in infrastructure will boost Bangladesh economy....

Looks like Chinese had found another "GOLD mine" in bangladesh .. BD be safe..
@topic: One simple point, if anyone have noticed it..
.
China is trading with vietnam, does that made them middle income country ???
.
This is an overstatement just to win hearts of some BD ignorant people, but i am sure BD gov is well aware of what china really does with other country..

Chinese companies only bring engineers and top supervisors with them for project efficiencies and time factor. They also do on the job trainings for local talents to operate the projects as soon as they finished them. Most of them return to China or go to another country when locals can takeover. A few might stay but only for personal reasons-like fall in love with the place or women.

that's what I have seen so far in the garments industry. Supervisors and management teams are mostly re-cruited locally. This is the scenario of 2005. Of course as we will go into more high-tech and sophisticated industrial products, which we didn't do before, we will need to learn and familiarize ourselves with it from experts.

Brain fart :coffee: other than few Chinese specialists, other workers are always Pakistanis, feel free to check any Chinese project in Pakistan.

Can some members from Pakistan comment on this??

Every country trades/invests in another country for their own gain. That's nothing new, we know it. We trade with EU countries, what does that made us!! Give some good example mate. We need to improve the condition by ourselves and yes no one is dumb in here not to understand that. No one spoon feeds others...lol

And of course China can certainly can act as a catalyst. I guess this is what they meant actually. ( I believe you understand what a catalyst does)

Look at post 22 ... Bangladesh already is or become middle income country long before 2021... China will help it by investing in infrastructure and in power generation projects... both of which will increase productivity by increasing industrialization and helping to bring more foreign investment and by making better communication systems.

Regarding during project time works it happen in many countries the contractors can bring their people of choice but in Bangladesh it is unlikely as they can get more bangladeshis at a cheaper rate then bringing chinese people at a higher rate...

But most importantly Bangladesh is trying to get the post benefit with those project completion... if it can create some temporary employment during the project definitely it will be a plus.

I guess at least you have knowledge how infrastructure and increase electricity production can help a country or it's economy!!!

Thats why I said its just an overstatement, no country can help other with income.. As far as europe is concerned they atleast give you some help with your export in garment, seafood, etc.. If you see carefully your trade with china then you will realize that it is doing the same thing which it has done with other nation i.e just to export its goods.. In that case atleast India is much better trade partner for Bangladesh, am i wrong ?? you can correct me if i have wrote something wrong over here..

If that bold part is possible than I am pretty sure that this economic relation will be active in long term.. otherwise you will be another African country or vietnam..

As far as infrastructure and electricity production is concerned, it will help BD with their growth..

Its good for Bd and bad for India. TBH India will try every way to prevent BD from becoming another influential player in the region. Lets see how BD rolls through this.
