China to fund regional railway hub for Pakistan

Pakistan and India are like an island on this map, and that is not good for cross country travel.

Hamaa zor Hama Asho Bed to all the Zoroastrians.

did you know from hundreds of million years ago up till only about 10 million years ago, they actually were one island floating in the ocean, completely separate from the rest of the world, before colliding with eurasia to form the himalayas?

Hamaa zor Hama Asho Bed to all the Zoroastrians.

....yes I did know that.
And what is it with all these new members and their strange greetings?

And Pakistanis - Are you listening?? More business, More trade - already the Chinese are saying lets go beyond slogans-- don't take this for granted - please do keep asking why it is taking so long to increase the volume of trade with China and insist on a speedier and deeper involvement

What would be the benefits for China, by doing this? I have not seen properly yet. Is it military, economic, or even logistic. They have enough problems of taking care of North Korea (increasing by day, as I see it), What would be the advantage of tagging along Pakistan at this juncture......

.
Certain external powers are creating serious law and order situation in the province of Baluchistan, with the evil design to halt the expected development of the area through Gwadar port operations, said the Chinese strategic analyst Prof. Zhon Rong. He added the taking over of operations of Gwadar Port by a Chinese company in the recent past to go with the railway project, can transform Pakistan into economic giant of the 21st Century.

So, If the Chinese can take over the Gwadar Port, and have easy transportation by road, will make it easier for them to buy oil from middle east unregulated, especially when Indian Ocean is controlled by other forces..........

North Korea is North Korea and not Pakistan - Pakistan have a multitude of problems but it also has multiple advantages - the one area where an advantage has been turned into a problem by consecutive Pakistan governments is the economy - with zero govt input, the Pakistan economy grows at between 2 to 3 percent, with proper management, a 6 to 8 percent figure is not unrealistic -- the aim, goal, purpose of this exercise is to create lives of dignity for our peoples, that means trade and that means keeping Western imperial powers at bay.

With an India, Pakistan and China more focused on trade, a strong regional economy can be forged, one that will provide a powerful incentive to attenuate conflict and seek it's resolution.

Let him tell the Pakistani people that Gwadar Port is first for the development of Pakistan and then any other country. The American withdrawal by end of 2014 would start the beginning golden period for Baluchistan, he added.

Very interesting statement....

First,
Gwadar Port is first for the development of Pakistan and then any other country.
, Why mentioned any other Country. If the port is for Pakistan then it is only for Pakistan......

Second,
The American withdrawal by end of 2014 would start the beginning golden period for Baluchistan
, What does Americans withdrawal correlates with Baluchistan, when the purpose of them being there was clearly Al qaeda????

Very patriotic statement, I applaud you, but to
keep the western imperial powers at bay
must be created by Pakistan alone. One is, they themselves create a economic power by creating a libertarian style of gov't system, where people have the power. This should be the goal of Pakistan's future..

.
The Chairman Department of International Relations said the old slogans of deeper than sea and higher than sky for Pak- China relations must be transformed into something tangible by boosting economic ties.

And I believe that this sentence clearly states the frustration of the Chinese, China relations must be transformed into something tangible by boosting economic ties.

The tangible represents a lot from mineral deposits to finish goods, but China clearly has to see Pakistan as being a stable country, which it itself is not decided....

P.s. provide a link please.

Thanks

Precisely - Exactly, Jeypore I think more and more people are realizing that while Pakistan have created space for their security with developing nuclear weapons, Pakistan is not really free and not secure - and this is because it has long neglected it's economy and that the only real freedom is freedom from poverty, to create lives of dignity (higher standard of living) I think, at least as I read and speak to people, is something that urban types are understanding more and more - the working people already know this, they have always known it, they can't be blamed for not voicing their concerns when politicians come around with free goodies.

However, the real meat of this is in structural reforms and the will to collect taxes - if Pakistan are kicked around and they are, it is because rural elites in particular have caught on to the game, the seek to appropriate as much benefit from the public while denying the public the possibility to entry the economy as producers of goods and services, at the same time these rural elites in collusion with the bureaucracy, are out begging bowl front and center seeking grants and loans while will ultimately serve them. This must end, it must be brought to an end.

.
The active promotion of construction of the railway project will connect Pakistan with Xinjiang region in China and will enhance the capacity of transportation between the two countries not only by land but also add to a new outbound transportation line for western China, said Director Pakistan Study Centre Sichuan University Chengdu China Dr. Chen Jidong
How much does Pakistan export to China? How much does China export to the rest of the world? I'm not saying it won't benefit Pakistan but obviously the "regional hub" project is being funded for China, not for Pakistan as the headline implies.

So, clearly Mr. Muse in the world we have created our self, Pakistan has to do likewise. You have stated precisely what Pakistan has to do to keep all the forces out, and the solution is always internally........

Thanks, I will have my burbon now:)

. .
on a slightly off topic note, I think Pakistan should switch from driving on the left to driving on the right, this will connect Pakistan to China, Afghanistan, Iran and the rest of the world.

Here is a map of the world who drive on the left vs right.

a nice suggestion, though it would pressurise the economy.this is not a very easy task.but if it happens,,then it would be great for all of us.
