China to become high-income country by next year, the second country after S.Korea moved from low to high-income since the second world war

.
It's stated by the article itself. but anyway, moving one fifth of the world total population from rock bottom low low income to high income in barely 30 years is indeed quite a feat, a great contribution to the whole humanity.

I'm quite sure some of the Caribbean Islands listed were low income before the war. Many of them make their money on tourism...which was relatively non-existent before the War (unless the super rich few who were going there were keeping them afloat). Remember you pretty much have to fly there and commercial airline travel for the masses didn't really kick in until after the War.
Most Latin American/Carribean countries were always middle income since the 19th century. They were the textbook examples of the middle income trap. Latin America was never poor the way South Korea or China were, but never left middle income either.

South Korea is moden slavery. Chaebo controls 90% of economy. People are brainwashed and sex cult are promoted to keep people content. In terms of material well being, Beijing and Shanghai is far far far better than Seoul.

South Korean have a higher salary but everything is expensive. Eventually South Korean enjoys nothing but works long hours.

Korean Chaebo companies sucks big time. Korean engineers have siege mentality and they do not share knowledge.
SK has the highest suicide rate, the lowest birth rate among developed countries. The price is high.

I guess we should thank the white man for keeping most of South and Latin America middle income instead of low. I guess PDF should be giving us more credit...

I guess I should change my viewpoint on how lucky they are.. I always thought most of it was a poverty pit...especially in the 19th Century. I guess I never knew what a pit really was and should replace my picture with China.

Best example is Costa Rica, a good country. They don’t even have an army.
If we don’t waste human lives on wars, don’t spend money on military the world would be better off.

Many of these chaebo especially Samsung and lotte are funded by Japanese. Japan told Korea they already paid ww2 compensation. In reality lots of compensation went to their ex collabor and traitor who are the founder of chaebo.

These chaebo skim large amount of profit and shop to Japan by all sorts of financial instruments.

The Japan ww2 compensation are designed as neo colonial tools to reconquer Korea.

They do not. The conditions are follows. 1. The country must be a high income country now. 2. The country must be a country with low income at the end of WW2.

You're right; it's from low to high income after WW2. I initially thought middle to high income would be included.

GDP is just part of the metrics. There is nothing merits comparing between China and Monaco, even though Monaco has astronomical GDP.
