China to 'authorise' Pakistan to build missiles, tanks, FC-1 Xiaolong combat aircraft

Israel do have ICBM so why Pakistan can't have it? We are independent nation and if we have ICBM then all nations which it cover will think twice before doing anything against Pakistan. Pakistan badly need ICBM of at least 6500km to cover Europe and Africa
I've already stated why it would be detrimental to Pakistan's interests. Simply put, we do not need an ICBM because we don't really have any enemies in other continents. As for Israel, it's best to not engage with them or engage with them minimally. Also, Israel does not officially have nuclear weapons nor is there any solid evidence to support the claim, so it is impossible to say whether they have an ICBM or not.

China, Pakistan to further boost military cooperation
2017-03-17 01:53:23 GMT2017-03-17 09:53:23(Beijing Time) Global Times
The military cooperation between China and Pakistan will be further enhanced especially in weapons and anti-terrorism sectors, experts noted after a meeting between two senior military officers of the two countries on Thursday.

The "all-weather" strategic partnership has withstood changes in the international community, said Fang Fenghui, chief of the Joint Staff Department under the Central Military Commission of China, during a meeting with Qamar Javed Bajwa in Beijing, according to the website of the Ministry of National Defense. General Bajwa was appointed as Pakistani Army Chief in November 2016.

The talks will consolidate and deepen military exchanges between China and Pakistan, while new cooperation on military techniques might also be discussed, Song Zhongping, a military expert who served in the Second Artillery Corps (now known as the PLA Rocket Force), told the Global Times.

Weapon exchanges, including the mass production of FC-1 Xiaolong, a lightweight and multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the two countries, will be furthered after the meeting, said Song.

China's authorization to Pakistan to produce ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-ship missiles and main battle tanks in Pakistan is also on the agenda, he [Song] added.

The two sides also vowed on Thursday to ensure the safety of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), an important part of China's Belt and Road initiative.

Masood Khalid, Pakistani Ambassador to China, said at a news conference on Tuesday that Pakistan has deployed more than 15,000 troops to protect the CPEC, and the country's navy has raised a contingent for the protection of Gwadar Port.

Proposed in 2013 by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, the 3,000-kilometer CPEC links Kashgar in Northwest China's XinjiangUyghur Autonomous Region with Pakistan's Gwadar Port.

As Pakistan faces frequent threats from terrorist forces such as the Taliban and al-Qaeda, military support is necessary to ensure a safe environment for the regions where there is huge investment from China, said Song.

The two countries agreed to enhance anti-terrorism cooperation at the meeting, vowing to resolutely strike against terrorist forces including the East Turkestan Islamic Movement.

Pakistan's military is willing to deepen the cooperation with the Chinese army and fully support the Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism in Counter Terrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces, said Bajwa.
Is there are any slight chance of getting long range SAM like versions of HQ-9 and ABM system like HQ-19 or HQ-26 sir:pakistan::china:

Beginning of new projects and defense manufacturing in collaboration with china is a good sign. But this industry have to find wide demand.Pakistan may find it's customership in Arab world,African Muslim country's,Islamic military alliance.

. . .
Is not pakistan already producing the J17 under licence?

We are producing them locally since we are 50-50 partner in the project.

So you were assembeling them from SKD?
Then would you not say the word "authorise" is a bit redundant?

We are manufacturing them not assembling from SKD kits.

In my opinion this is quite a good deduction given the current geopolitical atmosphere; some Islamic Military Alliance (IMA) members such as Turkey, the UAE and Saudi Arabia — countries that have traditionally maintained strong military relations with the US (a global competitor of China) in reference to defence procurement — may be willing to acquire less expensive but still capable Chinese-designed equipment from a source that is less likely to anger their main arms supplier. However, there are counterarguments to this, mainly that the precise details of this new agreement are not publicly known at this point so it is impossible to say if China will authorise Pakistan to export these defence systems. Even if the agreement includes authorisation of exportation, the Pakistani defence industry will probably find it very difficult to find international customers as China can manufacture and sell the same systems for a lower cost and with greater efficiency.

We are producing them locally since we are 50-50 partner in the project.

From the article "JF-17 BLOCK-2 AND BLOCK-3 DETAILS CONFIRMED" on Quwa
"The workshare agreement in effect between China and Pakistan permits PAC to produce 58% of the airframe and subsystems (the engine is imported from Russia). I imagine (and hope) the balance will gradually shift more to the Pakistani side as PAC becomes more capable."

If India doesn't have any offensive posture/design against Pakistan...India shouldn't be worried...Pakistan is not going to attack India...It is actually war mongering occurs from other side of border...

Kudos to China and Pakistan...We can change the destiny of South Asia and other regions if we go side by side just like our ancestors went...

:pakistan::china:

But where did any Indian said that they are worried. Pl make as much as planes and tanks and missile as you can. Our good wishes are there with you.

Ballistic missiles for air defence? I think you playing down the meaning of this treaty.
You didn't got my point I am saying this deal is only for Air Defence systems. Pakistan mostly likely will produce HQ-16 and HQ-7 and HQ-9 in Pakistan or may be even Missiles which have less than 300 KM range we can increase the range further when we start producing them in Pakistan.

jf-17 is manufactured in Pakistan but some component for its avionics are imported from china ,license would be given to manufacture those parts in Pakistan

I am not stating that we should engaging with them, what i was stated that we should follow them and yes currently we don't have any enemy but are we waiting for enemy and then create weapons for them?(in the mean time if they have weapons they will used against Pakistan and all our infrastructure will be gone. We need to focus issues earlier. 6500 km is a reasonable distance and even after refueling enemy bomber planes will be fail to attack Pakistan land with that distance and its gives us huge advantages. For example Combat radius of B52 is 7210 KM in single flight and after refueling it will be double. Anything between 6500 to 7500 will be good for us and in this case anything beyond this range will left only 5 countries to having capabilities to attack us with missiles only. It will boost our defense greatly.
