China threatens US with retaliation

The USA can kick around India, Europe, and Japan.

But they can't kick around China and Russia.

China is proud, China did not bow to the USA during the cold war. China will never bow to a foreign nation. China will never fall under imperialisation.

Do you know what Imperialism is? It is HEGEMONY

The difference between China and India is that India is the slave of the USA

Absolutely. And I encourage you to underestimate US.

Im not my friend. But someone like you must know that even know that America is already in a financial mess. Can they afford to waste there resources against a powerful country like China? The results will leave the US in grave shambles.

And let us not forget the past. The reason why US was not succesful in there campaign in vietnam war was because the American population did not want the war carry on hence the loss occured. The same thing can occur when a war will be waged on another country like China.

The USA tells India who they can trade with, the USA tells India what they can build and what they can sell, the CIA is allowed to operate in India. The USA can send warships next to India anytime but India is not allowed to do the same to the USA.

The USA can commit crimes in India against Indians and will only get a slap on the wrist by the USA.

China threatens US with retaliation

A Chinese General on Friday termed as "flagrant provocation" US plans to send a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to the Yellow Sea and said the country would retaliate if "offended".

"A country needs respect, so does a military. We will retaliate if we are offended," Major General Luo Yuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) Academy of Military Sciences, wrote in an editorial in the PLA Daily.

The US is "pushing its security boundary to the doorstep of others - the Yellow Sea, South China Sea and so on," Luo said.

China had in the recent weeks voice its firm opposition to activities of foreign military vessels or planes in the Yellow Sea and China's coastal waters, saying they undermine it security interests.

Despite China's warning, the US insists on sending the carrier US George Washington, he said.

The General was reacting to reports quoting Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, as saying that the carrier will always go into international waters"

Luo's comments also came in the backdrop of reports that China was developing a new missile called Dong Feng 21D.

The anti-carrier missile, regarded as a game changer, could be launched from land with enough accuracy to penetrate the defenses of even the most advanced moving aircraft carrier at a distance of more than 1,500 km.

Another official newspaper China Daily today carried a report on the new missile saying that the Ministry of National Defence did not confirm it.

Yellow sea, that separates China and South Korea, was rising temperatures in the region on the sidelines of the crisis over the sinking of a South Korean naval ship allegedly by North Korea.

China, while advocating restraint steadfastly opposed to the US-South Korean naval exercises in the Yellow Sea, even while it conducted its own naval war games off Shanghai coast.

China hardened its stance further after US Secretary Hillary Clinton's recent comments at ASEAN meeting calling for an international mechanism to solve disputes in South China Sea, which is an extension of Yellow Sea in the international waters.

Commenting on the US plans to send its aircraft carrier to South China Sea Rear Admiral Yin Zhuo, senior researcher at the Chinese navy's Equipment Research Center, said there is hardly any operational intent from the US side, sending aircraft carrier except to put pressure on China, diplomatically and politically.

Meanwhile, China appeared upset over reports that US was holding "advanced negotiations" to share nuclear fuel and technology with Vietnam to expand the strategic alliance to checkmate China.

China threatens US with retaliation

I'm wonder when will those stupid foreign media stop equating what Chinese generals says with official Chinese policy.

Do they realize, for example, a prominent Chinese general recently said Communists monopoly on power is going to end soon and China is going to become a democracy in ten years?

Didnt USA underestimated the power of popular Pukhtoon resistance aka so called talibans??

Well here is some more info from the article.
Just as Pakistan has long sought to make Afghanistan into a kind of colony in order to have what its generals call “strategic depth” against India, so has India long cultivated friendship with Afghanistan in order to encircle Pakistan and to extend its influence in Central Asia. (Indeed ‘non-aligned’ India was one of the only countries in the world to recognize the Soviet-installed communist regime in Kabul.)

There has been little prospect of Indian forces there helping the NATO-U.S.-Afghan effort against the Taliban. The top brass in the Indian military see Afghanistan as belonging to their expanding sphere of influence –there’s a lot of intoxicated talk of ‘superpower’ status here these days — and they dislike the U.S. and foreign military presence there. However if Taliban forces begin deliberately targeting Indian forces, it’s at least possible that that could change

the myth if india superpower..hahahahaha

My personal advise to China...
China should stop being an overexcited state.
It isn't strong enough yet to "Warn" US.
China has a long way to go to reach that stage and they should work to reach there ,rather than pushing themselves into clashes which would lead to there own devastation.

Its alot stronger then you think or even know... the last warning when the US spyplane was caught flying over chinese airspace do you know the warning China gave to the US ? you will not be able to see your sky as it will be filled up with our warplanes think again..:woot:

China needs to grow out of its communist mentality. Sino-US clashes are more of a result to uncessfully counter each other with own doctrine. Cold war is dead communism is dead china needs to evolve. Or else it will lose to India.

Well your name suits your perfectly, China would be a bozo if it adopted democracy, at this time, since it'd lead to another India in the makings. Take a look at India's progress shall we? No infrastructure, wide spread poverty and takes no responsibilities. It's the only nation why is THIS BEHIND in setting up the Commonwealth Games.

I didnt say China adapt democracy, unless it wants to turn into mud splashing sports which happens every four years at white house. I meant to say that enough of Chinese tit-for-tat and warnings. They need to develop a counter diplomatic strategy where uninvited US incursions will automatically have a severe economical or diplomatical cost. Comeon, isnt China sitting on 1.5 trillion dollars?? American influence is working fast in India and in next 20 years they may not be able to counter china but still grow into a formidable force. What is China doing to counter this?? Rise of facist hindu mentality India has implications not only for Pakistan but many smaller south asian nations. Bangladesh is already taking the brunt, Srilanka has just put down LTTE, Bhutan, Myanmar are next in line?

and who the hell is the "pakistani" living in saudi arabia to tell us what to do? saudi arabia is a backwards, wife beating, spineless feudal monarchy that can't even extract its own oil without the white man's (or our) help. there's nothing to be proud of living there.

what about 1500 employees of sino-pec?? And my friends Chinese professors as KAAU?? Come on man we are all here to earn some money.

Bang on target!!:sniper:
China should stop "Warning US" ,it has no power,no authority to do so,if China clashes with US,i think all know what the result will be...:hang2:

When USA sent U2 spy planes to China do you know what they did?? they simply shot it down. When US developed a counter EW suite, the Chinese simply modified the russian SAM and still shot them down. Eventually US gave up U2 flights over china. So yes if China can kill american birds, it can also warn them too. Guess if U2 flights were to happen over India, they will all be posing for a photshoot with ear to ear smile..

guys, give respect where it is due...china has done tremendously well. it is the upcoming superpower. and china can definitely give USA run for their money. china has done it quietly and indigeniously. we indians should need to learn and respect them. by pulling other people leg we cannot become big. we should make our own way.

China has done tremendously well, but Other countries have done tremendously well as well.

I foresee China being one of multiple great powers, perhaps even first among the multiple great regional powers if the stars align right for them, but certainly not so dominant as to be referred to as a superpower, which implies being able to project power globally with little contest. We should talk about China becoming a great power and wait until they have uncontested dominance over their immediate region before we talk about becoming a superpower.

The US and the USSR became superpowers not only through their own advancement, but because the rest of the great powers were demolished/defeated during WW2. I don't think we'll see such a perfect storm of events again anytime soon

Indian and other members here instead of thinking or advising or speaking for China or US should rather concentrate on what effect it has for India if indeed some kind of military retaliation occurs in those waters.

Since the region is very far away from South Asian waters or regions where there is Indian naval presence the immediate consequences won't make much of a difference, but the later ones will.We need to focus on the later.

OR

We have the luxurious option of ignoring the whole issue considering the fact both China and USA are mature nations and an event involving a clash of their respective navies is highly unlikely.:lazy:

Also we all know military generals of any nation in general are hawkish.(Sometimes also make foolhardy or silly statements).

Except for the CIA and "build and sell" part rest is true.

Besides,Indian navy has no reason what so ever to go beyond Indian Ocean unless invited for a naval exercise.

I think we're getting sucked into a silly argument no thanks to some of the baseless comments by Smileplz. I suggest the more mature members of the forum to take comments of the newbies with a pinch of salt. Especially if you know them to be ridiculously silly.
