Xiaoming yesterday warned the UK that China would take steps to stop recognizing British national (overseas) passports as valid travel documents, effectively banning Hong Kong citizens from leaving and moving to the UK.

"Since the UK violated the pledge and commitment on BNO we have to take other measures not to recognise the BNO as a valid travel document," he said in a press conference on Thursday.

He insisted "China threatens no one" but "we just let you know the consequences."

Xiaoming said: "China wants to be a friend of the UK and a UK partner, but if you do not want to be a partner and our friend, and you want to treat China as a hostile power, you will pay the price.

"We have a thousand reasons to make this relationship successful and not one reason to make it fail."

Time to campaign for all nation treasure return from UK royal museum to their respective countries. Thief must return looted goods.

If UK dont comply, we will send a fleet to force UK to return. I would like to see whether NATO or US will back a thief keeping their looted goods and claim that as a righteous move which shall be supported.

Good move by China. The West forgot that HK is Chinese City. HK no longer is the Colony of British.

You have indeed a very powerful naval fleet but you are underestimating royal navy..... if China ever sends her fleet in Atlantic to force UK for something then sorry to say UK alone is more than enough capable not to defeat but slaughter PLAN..... UK doesn't at all need USA or NATO to handle PLAN in her own backyard.....

Just because it has a VETO vote, doesnt mean its a real big power. Gone are the days of colonies. After brexit UK should be careful and not stand behind daddy US so quickly and enrage china.
