China threatens its Neighbours

Please can you quote the source for your claims..

Besides India has multiple 200 kilotone plutonium based thermonuclear devices.

I am not sure if you know.. but beyond 200 kilotone ..destructive efficiency of a Nuclear bomb wrt to amount of fissile material used drastically reduces.
ie Amount of Damage done by 5..two hundred kilotone warheads , is much more than 1 megatone consolidated warhead..this is one of the reason why MIRV came in to existance.

India may have many more nukes than the source quoted from the Western intelligence.

The problem is that our nuke stockpile is overwhelming that is comparable to the current US stockpile.

So India doesn't hold any hope as the ballistic missiles are limited to hit in the Chinese soil, not mind that a good number of missiles would be shot down by our Anti-Missile defence.

So build up a nuke stockpile of at least 3000 before you want to talk MAD with us.

Thats a 5 yr old article..you think warheads which which brought into service 30 yrs back are not being replaced by thermonuclear warheads.

.
Are you saying none of Chinese missiles have failed?

Many have likely failed but nowhere near the failure rate of Indian missiles. You can't hide ICBM tests and China has conducted hundreds of launches. Just a few months ago China launched 6 SLBMs simultaneously. China takes nuclear deterrence seriously. We are among 5 countries who have a nuclear triad.

That's right.

China had ICBM's since the 1970's.

India doesn't even have any ICBM's in 2010.

Threat assessments of massive wars do not happen when the clock strikes midnight. Countries know that ahead of time, much ahead. Political negotiations happen to buy time etc. Havent we seen all this before in WWII? US does not lease now but in a make or break scenario, the US can do anything, including training and deployment of assets. What do you want us to do with SSBNs that we simply dont use? Russia already leases nuke subs to India. And that is not even a secret. What is so surprising about the US leasing one to close allies? But right now, there is really no threat perception from China and existing threats have been covered one way or the other through minimum deterrents. Unless, China ends up developing some technology that puts these countries below the minimum deterrence levels, I really dont see us equipping anyone with SSBNs and/or training them. US officers with local personnel I am sure is a potent combination. The end goal is to have a presence of SSBNs there that will avert war. Docking facilities in these countries and access to their manpower should do it. US never fully transfers though. I am sure we will have our officers onboard. But the point is can these countries get access to US SSBNs to prevent war? Yes, they can. But china knows this already. So, it is already a stalemate.

Ohh..we are not talking MAD..we are talking min credible deterence..
ie Will more damage, than what is acceptable to you.
Will you ready to sacrifice 50 chinese cities to destroy India?

India has no proven thermonuclear tests. Nuclear tests are monitored by most countries and India has not shown that capability yet.

LOL, interesting analysis. :D

And We are deploying nuclear Triad this year along with ICBM..but it does not matter since most of your major cities (except the northern ones ) including your capital are already in Agni 3 range.

What we are dealing with here is really a case of what these people need to tell themselves in order to sleep at night. The truth is just too unfavourable and scary.

Human nature really.

Who is giving you a SSBN? You are still leasing a SSN.
