China: The New Superpower?

He could have tried to kill inspectors, its possible. But can you provide a source for that claim.
Easy...

Saddam Hussein tried to kill UN nuclear inspectors under all teams.

Why does the IAEI chief have to be a American ?
Did you even understood what I said?

I said that by agreement, UN inspector chiefs in Iraq CANNOT be Americans. The team leaders were: Richard Butler (Aus), Hans Blix (Swe), and Rolf Ekeus (Swe).

You make pronouncements about Iraq but did not do even basic research.

But back to my point America has gained nothing from the war. There were no WMD's in Iraq, no links to al-Qaeda or 9/11. The oil has gone to China and others, the democracy and nation building project has failed. So what was the war for ? And what has america gained after all of this.
Fine...Then take joy that we did it for the greater good.

12x~3% = 36% impressive GDP growth!

Your math ^^

Huh, 12 x 3% what ? :what:

All the prices are compared from a year ago. Its not compared from month to month. If house prices rose 36% last year in China that would be news to the whole world.

There are other ways of achieving public transportation. not the megalomaniac way of importing the most expensive tech that cant turn a profit.

That from the guy that tries to justify the nearly trillion dollars cost of the Iraq War. But the cost of a (short) maglev train line in Shanghai is too much ? Strange.

Is Detroit empty?
Yes:victory:
Chinese empty cities problem is a small city build too much new building.

But Detroit :omghaha:

You know there is a difference, US people will most likely earn what they earn now, but China like India, the people's salary has tons of growth potential. So Chinese people will one day be able to afford these, but Americans can afford the same thing.

Even if we take rising salaried in account, inflated prices today means that the rise in asset value would not be as fast as it should be.

Prices,if they are inflated today by artificial methods means that either they have to be artificially boosted forever or else have to slow down in reality.

The point you have made about faster growth of Salaries in developing countries is valid....

But for the asset holders to make profit while people attain higher salaries, further construction work has to cease which is a de-facto crash.

And how exactly is it different from US subprime crisis.

When things were going great in US,investor's asset value seemed to be Intact.

If your supply is greater than demand and you are keeping prices high by manufacturing scarcity,it is a bubble that would burst once absorption power of market's end.

you really havent studied much about the subprime crash in usa and you have no basic clue about how the financial crisis was created.

Here is one free gift for you!

the bankers and lenders were dishing out approvals for loan applications without credit check. This is just one out of many revelations in the aftermath of the collapse of the american economy due partly to the subprime loan fiasco

It's interesting to know Chinese are not interested in becoming a super power. Many states and nations dream of becoming a super power.

You are wrong. China very much wanted to become a superpower. In the Chinese mind, China MUST become a superpower.

And how is it different from Chinese public banks supporting construction boom.

You don't need to give any free gift.

Had it not been bad mortgages,it would have been something else. The basic problem was artificial scarcity created because of Banks providing subprime loans which inflated the prices of real estate beyond their market value. If real estate prices would not have crashed, even subprime loans would not have turned sour.

you are again grossly outdated old man.

Almost none of the above comments by China-flags say we are destined to be a superpower or anything like that. Dont feel threatened and create unnecessary Sinophobia which is bad for your heart!

I will take a look.

This is what you have posted.

You are the one that needs to do more research on the subject. The nuclear inspections in Iraq and around the world are carried out by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) is the agency specially setup after the Gulf war to disarm Iraq of its chemical, biological and missile programs. And all those people that you mentioned are from the UNSCOM/UNMOVIC side. Hans Blix was the leader of the IAEA during the 1990's that's true and later he became the head of UNMOVIC the successor of UNSCOM. So when you post nuclear i automatically think of the IAEA.

P.S. the head of the field teams of UNSCOM in Iraq was an American Scott Ritter.

Fine...Then take joy that we did it for the greater good.

What good will that be ? The hundreds of thousands of dead or the millions of displaced ?

you simply cannot compare the us subprime bubble with the real estate status of China with basic bricks and mortars witout knowing the basic socio fabrics of the 2 countries. Okay no more free ride after this one!

This is what you have posted.
And I said 'CANNOT', as in cannot be Americans.

The nuclear inspection teams in Iraq falls under the IAEA umbrella. The teams in Iraq were temporary and as such, they need a parent organization. So I was not wrong.

P.S. the head of the field teams of UNSCOM in Iraq was an American Scott Ritter.
And who did Ritter worked for?

What good will that be ? The hundreds of thousands of dead or the millions of displaced ?
One less dictator.

And I said 'CANNOT', as in cannot be Americans.

There was never a Chinese head of UNSCOM either, so what is you're point ?

The nuclear inspection teams in Iraq falls under the IAEA umbrella. The teams in Iraq were temporary and as such, they need a parent organization. So I was not wrong.

They remain two different organizations.

And who did Ritter worked for?

Like everyone else in UNSCOM he worked for the UN, he was an ex-intelligence officer in the US Marines and did weapons inspections in the Soviet Union for the US before going to Iraq for the UN. UNSCOM is a UN outfit, everybody comes from different countries but they all work for the UN.

One less dictator.

One more failed state.

There was never a Chinese head of UNSCOM either, so what is you're point ?
You were the one who implied that we did not let UN nuclear inspectors did their work, as if the US controls the teams.

You can just let the arms inspectors do their work and if there were no WMD's just lift the sanctions and the oil would have been flowing richly out of Iraq.
So the point is that non-American leaders of the nuclear inspection regime in Iraq were suspicious of Saddam Hussein and that the fact that they were under physical threats to their persons gave them good cause to doubt Iraq regarding WMDs.

They remain two different organizations.
So what? The Iraq teams were no different than different departments from one company.

Then this completely disprove your attempt to portray Ritter as a leader when he was nothing more than a mid level employee.

One more failed state.
Iraq is not a 'failed state'.
