Featured China surpassing Russia in airpower technology: RUSI

LOL, How about Indian weapons? You can't even make your own rifles.

India cannot even make bullets.

At best India can do the paintwork on Brahmos. After all, India paid billions to Russia for that privilege.
UNDER THE TIGHT SUPERVISION AND QUALITY CONTROL OF RUSSIAN ENGINEERS AND RUSSIAN TECHNICIANS

At this moment, both countries are shifitng to fly wing design bomber, russian PAK-DA,China H20.
So far Russia hasn't shown anything promising on the PAK-DA. And they are focusing on upgrade the Tu-160 and building new ones. Don't know what the progress is on China's.

multiple sources said they are already working on first prototype.

Russia's Tu-160 Blackjack bomber. Even China doesn't have something like that.
Because Chinese bombers cannot fly to North America like Russians, there is no urgent need to develop a bomber. It would only make sense to develop a large bomber if air-launched cruise missiles could reach the mainland United States. The missile's engine technology was only tested successfully in September, and the actual missile is expected to be operational by 2025.

.
Currently, China can order the Su-34 from Russia. In the future, Russia will retire the TU-22m and Tu-95, which is a good time for China to buy these two aircraft and receive a full TOT.

Are you saying China has no plans for such a bomber?

Would Russia give them?

It's not that simple. The more weapons the better, of course, but when budgets are limited, some projects are not given high priority. Bombers have a lower priority than missiles.Only when missile technology reaches a sufficient altitude will the bomber enter the actual stage of development.

True but the Chinese are working on a B-21 type stealth subsonic flying wing design. A configuration like the Tu-160 is not very survivable or practical these days anyways. But the currently PLA bomber fleet is quite weak to say the least.

I can guarantee you the Chinese will not buy the Su-34 (they have the J-16 already). And why would the Chinese purchase the Tu-22M or Tu-95 (both hopelessly outdated aircraft inferior to the latest H-6 variant) when the H-20 is going to come online in a couple of years? The only use the Chinese would have for some relic like the Tu-95 would be for its scrap metal.
