30 successful mars missions till now , excluding Chinese

If China succeeds, it be 11th landing.

India will be the xxth nation to land on Mars
dozens of successful landings on Mars or even more before the first Indian one finally succeed

To this day India has not successfully landed on the Moon, let alone the far side of the Moon. I hope you do not go cheering too loudly if one day India finally succeeds because many have done that before India.

Not to bellitle India but mangalyan was a I2K satellite with a PSLV launch, at 1tonne,its really a primitive craft..much like uae, depending on US mission control, India was the same.

Becos China will be the second nation ONLY to land and put a working rover on Mars if succeed which Soviet Union/Russia and ESA never achieved.

China ranking on Mars from 6th will shot up to 2nd. And that is significant.

Nobody would care if India was the so called first Asian country to send an orbiter to the Mars orbit, had the Russian rocket not encountered some problems China's Mars orbiter would have reached there in 2012. But China had bigger plans so 9 years later we arrived at the Red planet with bigger ambitions. Equipped with more advanced sensors, an orbiter, a rover and a lander 3 modules in a single mission, heavier payload. In 3 months time we will find out if we have nailed it. We have a more significant mission objectives than India or UAE.

Even we dont nailed the landing. Our Mars trip is definitely more meaningful than Indian misery mars mission with a bigger orbiter with more powerful sensor and a payload even greater than perseverance mission at 5 tons to Mars.

Russia was the first to land on Mars and send a few photos .
It landed in 1971 and 1973. Nearly 50 years, half a century before china.

China also uses the European space agencies tracking and control facilities in all its moon and this mars mission. Its a technical requirement, which you can google. Not going to spoon feed.
