India is in because of the leaders we have..Corrupt to the core..But atleast we have freedom to throw them after 5 yrs..

Yes not all democracies provide that..Free schooling till 12 th std for all casts and for back ward casts UG and PG is also free in india..
We are in the process of looking into the hunger problem..In Govt schools till 10 th free food is provided which accounts for 1/2 of protien needs and 1/3 rd of calorie needs of the child..Aids problem/numbers in india is over estimated and the numbers are not even half of what was being told..
Homelessness is there almost everywhere and corruption is universal...

Democracy is not a Panacea. Without competent leaders they are just as bad any other form of government.

China has good leaders now.

I have a question for Indians here:

India is theoretically a democracy. Then why are the leaders so corrupt?

There must be only 2 reasons: India is not a democracy and Indians are unable to remove corrupt mafia criminals as leaders.

Or, Indians love to be oppressed by mafia criminals.
