China, Sindh to sign Rs14.6b transport project

a tunnel boring machine can be used for underground subway system, will cause minimum disruption above the ground.

and use hybrid buses, will surely save a lot of fuel cost.

Or Even Electric Buses even in Lahore Islamabad Multan this will also reduce the losses due to subsidy government is giving on ticket price

I don't understand the logic of every city signing the bus project. We should stop wasting our resources and focus on underground Railways for major cities like Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore
Tarkaki nazer ani chahye underground Ni honi chahye.underground even help in less trafficking on roads as wl as safety in war zones
They should focus on economy rather the jangla busses or roads

Thank you it's bit funny
I think your auto-correct is doing the damage :)

Kiddo...how much world have you seen,...have you ever stepped out of Pakistan, or for that matter, out of your city?
Read about the metro system of Stockholm...

Why don't Simply make elevated tracks of Metro Rail like they are doing in Lahore... Cheap Effective takes less time to make

And Install Solar panels on both sides to provide electricity...

Underground will take alot of time and a lot of money...

Solar panel won't provide enough power to drive the train but it can be used to run auxiliaries like A/C and heating systems.
Something like Monorail

at least it'll supply electricity to the stations

That will reduce the fuel cost, and because of that the fares will be lower too. With the additional bonus of reducing emissions, and being more environment friendly.

There is corruption written all over it. PPP will eat 70% of the money.

Underground railways is a very expensive and very disruptive project for overpopulated cities. Furthermore it will take years to build...Islamabad can be a good candidate but not Lahore and Karachi. These two metropoles are overpopulated.
However what we should do is to incorporate the provision for underground railways for the new cities. Gwader is the best candidate for that... I can see it sprawling very fast and expanding exponential within a decade and if we plan an underground train system for it, that will be great...another city is Quetta due to the extreme winters and snow and being a relatively small city, it can also be really a good candidate.

Karachi, Lahore and Peshawer will require a lot of planning and clever engineering to build the trains system without much disruption.
We didn't make one for 68 years and could have waited for another 10 years. The initially project if you remember was Lahore underground project but since it was inaugurated by Parvez Ellahi's government it obvioualy had to be scrapped to make something else under the name of Noon League

all major cities in the world have a combination of both. You have U-Bahn (Underground) and S-Bahn (Overground) in Berlin... You have Tube (Underground) and Overground Network in London, Metro (underground) and RER (regional and overground) in Paris

It takes time to build infrastructure but takes only a foolish brain to waste resources
