The following is personal experience from friends and family members from all of the 3 branches of the armed forces of Pakistan so you can feel free to disregard it if you wish. But they have trained and done joint exercises with the some of the best american and european weapon platforms Saudi Arabia and UAE have to offer INCLUDING exercises like Red Flag in the united states AND they have trained with the best that China has to offer. Their experience has been that the Chinese weapon platforms are right up there with the best, most cutting edge weapon platforms europe and the u.s. have to offer (at least for exports). For example, I know the air force trained with and flown in KSA's eurofighter and f15s as well as UAE's rafaels. The J10s and the J16s proved to be just as advanced and challenging to take on.

just to be honest if I'm in position of rearming our forces I'd go to China for everything we need for two big reasons it's cheap compared to the western and comes without strings attached

During Zhuhai Airshow 2018, one manufacturer of China military radar system, the 38th insitute of CETC, show off the world first next genertion AWACS systemhe unmanned aircraft is named TianShao(sky sentry), it have been succesfully conducted its flight test recently.

It is the world first unmanned AWACS, and most importantly, it is the world first AWACS system using the highly advanced spherical conformal array antenna (see pic, by using SCAA, the AWACS dont need to carry a spoon or a beam to accomodate its radar antenna anymore).

The AWACS system combine three future AWACS characters in one package:

(1)Spherical conformal array antenna
(2)Unmanned
(3)De-centralized

And it is only developed by China's second-tier radar supplier.

If its an UAV with full of Radar TR modules, the problem is going to come in the power aspects. Its well known modern AESA radars consume a lot of energy and I dont think it can be kept running for the total endurance time for the UAV. Either it will have a short endurance or the UAV has to be built really big, which is a disadvantage for its radar signature.

However such ideas is nice maturation of Chinese industrialisation. Whether these products will be viable, that's another question altogether.

S 400 is a beast for terrorist nation... India and China knows the benefits of peaceful competition... look at Sri Lanka and Maldives...

If Chinese claiming of leaving US behind in radar might not be exaggerating. Do check out US AWACS vs Chinese AWACS. Currently, most of US AWACS fleet is E-3C sentry which still uses mechanical steering array becos US still cant solve the 360 degress full coverage AESA problem. While Chinese introduced the world first 3 phased array AESA on our KJ-2000 and KJ-500 AWACS which is solves the problem of blind spot and continuous high definition scanning....

Please do google those items and see whether we are bragging anot.

why would 360 degree AESA be a problem? you just put 4 AESA radars across the aircraft, just like Russia does it on their Su-57 and F-22 Block 30s and US already uses AESA on E-2D Hawkeye, in fact US has more AWACS aicraft in 3 aircraft carriers than your entire country, and US Navy alone will have a massive fleet of 75 advanced E-2D Hawkeyes.

Lmao, you think just because its AESA its superior, you have no idea about detection ranges, performance against stealth targets, identification of rapid moving targets such as missiles and etc. E-2D combines both electronic and mechanical components.

Little to nothing is known about capability of Su-57 AESA radars, yet you somehow have knowledge of gap zones.

and no, your AWACS is not the first AESA AWACS

Indian Air Force has been using AESA since 2009, infact China ordered the same AESA radar from Israel but deal was scrapped by Israel later on.
