China 'shocked' by deaths at Madagascar plant

Don't leave the intermediate part out, that before the looting the people representing the workers who built the house were locked up.
Perhaps you need to be sent to a re-education camp!
i mean loot and murder are unacceptable in any case. And there is no reason why the leaders got arrested in this news, but obviously,if you dont like the job you can just quit, workers like these are unlikely to be forced to work.

Seems Chinese management forgot that the factory is in Africa and human rights and basic facilities should be provided.

China 'shocked' by deaths at Madagascar plant

Violent labour dispute at Chinese-run factory kills four as workers demand better wages.

Last updated: 13 Dec 2014 23:50

China's embassy in Madagascar has said it was "very shocked" by a violent labour dispute at a Chinese-run sugar factory in the west of the island that resulted in four deaths this week.

A spokesman at the embassy told the AFP news agency in a statement it was "regrettable" that "troublemakers incited by people with bad intentions" were using violence at the Sucoma plant.

The embassy also complained that Malgasy authorities were not upholding a duty to protect the factory.

On Wednesday, clashes between police and Sucoma workers demanding the release of two of their leaders who had been arrested turned deadly, with two people killed and nine wounded. The plant's sugar stocks were also looted.

On Thursday, a policeman and a soldier posted to the factory were slashed to death with knives.

The Malagasy workers at the plant are demanding better wages, and contracts for seasonal workers.

The embassy insisted the Chinese company that owns the plant was respecting local laws, and said it had created many jobs in the town of Morondava.

It said it was up to Madagascar's government to handle the matter so that "negative influences" are not felt on the island's investment climate.

China's vast investment in countries across Africa has led to social unease in some nations, with the visitors sometimes accused of exploiting workers.

your brothers on here will think otherwise. They think they are white.

Moreover you are right, Africans are by far the least racist/welcoming/warm/tolerant people i have ever met in my entire life(and belive me i have traveled a great lot). Its indeed a tragedy that despite this, many people still look down on them/are raciost towards them(i have witnessed this in several countries i have been to in Asia and Russia. Despite the fact that Africa has never done anything wrong to them/nor invaded/looted them like our ancestors did in the past(despite that they still look up to us for some reason.lool:sick:). Its indeed strange/weird. Anyway hopefully things will change with time(though to be honest i dont think so.lol).:undecided:

The part in bold is what most notice about Africans. While in most of the world(the rest of the third world/developing world) the anti racist outlook is adopted due to political correctness/"do unto others what you would expect for yourself"/education and exposure to civilised and modernised world, the Africans seem to be far more tolerant and welcoming of people of other races and their tolerance seems to be based more on basic human decency and not PC or other reasons. My father had African batch mates way back in the 80s India(from countries like Uganda and Zaire-now called CAR I guess) and he would always talk of their welcoming and unprejudiced attitudes towards others, even when facing racism in mainland India same as my father did.Above all there was a resilience to have a broader outlook on these issues and be a better person.

The accounts of almost everyone of my people who either had contact with africans or Africa, from tourists to students to pastors, seemed to convey a similar idea about Africans.Jovial and warm-hearted people who were unfortunate victims of the conditions in their homelands.

Trust me, no Chinese people will think themselves as white.

I know what is @Jlaw 's impression, since most Chinese persons especially women who have some degree of obsession about the fair skin, but our custom has this obsession way before we came into contact with the Caucasoid people. Also, the medieval Europeans were not fair at all, but rather swarthy.

BTW, African people are our friends, so the fairness of their skin doesn't matter to us as they will remain as our friends.

The kind of people we despise for example are those white wannabe Viets.

Moreover, i agree with your statement that black and white are genetically more closely related to each other than with oriental people(Asians), since Africans facial(and body build up, as in big/tall) features are more similiar to whites than asians.
I also agree with your point that Most Chinese(not just Chinese though, Asians in general) have an obsession about fair/white skin and increasingly wider eyes for some reason. Which is rather strange, since this feauture si one of the things i find attractive in East Asian women/girls.:smitten: Dont see why they are not happy with what they have.
As for white Viet wannabe.......hmmmmmmmm........that again is another racist word my man.:tsk:
