Because Russia know China won't buy SU-35 even proposed;

Here are the reasons;

Could the Chinese J-11s be better than the Russian Su-35s? - World Politics - Zimbio
It would be a great irony if the copy was better than the original. All indications are this could be true. The latest versions of the J-11 will be steathier, equipeed with more powerful engines with more thrust, and have more avionics than the original Su-35 which have been in design for the past two decades.
Several years ago, China signed a contract authorizing it to assemble 200 Su-27SK fighters. After building 105 planes, China unilaterally suspended the deal. Many believe that China is manufacturing a fighter that is in effect a replica of the Russian Sukhoi SU-27. Russian arms “Made in China”. China used the opportunity to develop its own domestic manufacturing and now has local capacity to build the next generation of aircraft. Why did Pakistan buy fewer F-16s? Hint:-Indigenous Flanker!

Russia has supplied China with weapons worth a total of more than $25 billion for the past 15 years. Aircraft, ships and air defenses account for the bulk of this sum.

The Su 35s are in trouble. The prototype crashed, and it is not as stealthy as the F-22 its closest rival

One of the two prototypes of the Russian Su-35 fifth generation fighter crashed on takeoff on April 26th. The cause was a problem with one of the two engines. A third prototype is already under construction. Russia had hoped to have the destroyed prototype fly over the May Day parade in Moscow on May 1st. The crash is really bad PR, since one of the consistent shortcomings of Russian warplanes has been the unreliable engines.

Last July, this long promised Russian answer to the F-22, the Su-35, had its first flight. In late 2007, the Russian Air Force showed off the first of two flyable prototypes. It was three years ago, that Russia announced its long promised Su-35 fighter, was back in development again.

The Su-35 is an enhanced Su-30 (itself a development of the Cold War era Su-27), and has been in development since the 1990s. At one point, it was called the Su-37, but the name was changed back to Su-35. Since the 1990s, time, many Su-35 prototypes were built, and apparently no two were identical. There were many disagreements over what direction the development should take, and by the late 1990s, the project was basically suspended for lack of funding. Stratfor. The Flanker J-11b Chinese version of the SU-27

China’s armed forces have more than 280 Su-27SK, Su-27UBK, Su-30MKK and Su-30MK2 fighters.

Well, yes. I remember. But things are always changing, and we are confident about ourselves.

And in my opinion, military is sensitive for China because she has to consider and benifit. Buying too many high tech weapons might push her under foreign media attack: The "China threat" theory.

Shrug.

China is trying to tell the world that she wants peace. That's what we need.

I hope every Chinese policy makers think like you..

No need to be sorry when its true;

The wide adoption of composite material (mainly carbon fiber) for the surfaces, reducing the weight of the aircraft for more than 700 kg, while the life of the composite part is increased over 10,000 hours in comparison to the original part built from steel.
Redesigned air inlets of engine intakes to reduce the radar cross section, this coupled with the adoption of composite material, and application of radar absorbent material has reduced the radar cross section (RCS) of 15 square meters of Su-27SK to just >3 square meters of J-11B.
Full air-to-surface / sea capability is added and J-11B is able to launch various precision guided air-to-surface and air-to-sea munitions.
Certified to be equipped with WS-10 (will be upgraded to WS-10A in the future) turbofan engine, which is claimed to be cheaper to operate than AL-31F.
Incorporation of on-board oxygen generating system (OBOGS): With the exception of Su-35 and Su-37, J-11B is the first of the Su-27 (Reverse Engineered) family to incorporate such technology. Due to the adoption of western style design features such as fully digitized computerized controls and solid state micro-electronics, Chinese claimed that the domestic OBOGS is superior than the analog system Russia offered to China.
Improved radar. The new radar is able to track 6-8 targets at the same time, and engage 4 of the 6-8 tracked simultaneously. When used against large surface target such as a destroyer, the maximum range of the radar was in excess of 350 km[citation needed]. The range against aerial targets was not disclosed, but it would be definitely much shorter, as in all radars. The Chinese official report claims that the radar is better than the 147x/KLJ-X radar family, but stop short of identifying the exact type. Contrary to many erroneous comments by many domestic Chinese sources, which mistakenly claimed that the radar had adopted a passive phased array antenna, the official claims of many Chinese governmental sources such as technical journals and publications have revealed that the radar still adopted a slotted planar array antenna.[citation needed]
Fully digitized solid-state avionics have replaced the analogue set of the Su-27SK. In the mid-2007, the Chinese governmental television station CCTV-7 released news clips of Chinese pilots in the cockpits of J-11B, with the LCD of glass cockpit of J-11B clearly visible, despite that the official report itself only claimed replacing the original avionics with domestic Chinese fully digitized solid-state avionics, and nothing of EFIS or glass cockpit was mentioned. In comparison to the earlier EFIS on J-11A, the most obvious difference is that LCD MFDs on J-11B are aligned in a straight line, instead of the middle one being slightly lower. The arrangement, appearance and layout of MFDs and EFIS of J-11B are similar to the general design concept of the west.
Missile Approach Warning System.
Though it has long been rumored that J-11B is aerial-refueling capable, it was impossible to determine if any aerial refueling probes have been added to the aircraft from the released official reports by the Chinese government. Professor Wang also revealed in the same interview that the J-11B entering series production would be equipped with domestic engines.

Need some more proof ? J11b VS MKI ;

Su-30MKI (110)- The Su-30MKI is one of the most advanced Flanker variants in current operation. It features a passive phased array radar, advanced FLIR and electro-optical capability, thrust-vectoring, and impressive low-speed maneuverability, thanks to the addition of canards. Hands-down, the Su-30MKI is superior to all Flankers short of the J-11B in PLAAF service. It is difficult to compare the MKI to the J-11B however, due to their relative advantages in different areas. The Su-30MKI is about 20% heavier, and features an engine with slightly less powerful dry(non-afterburning) thrust, thus giving it a slightly lower thrust-to-weight ratio. Furthermore, the Su-30MKI also has about 8 times the radar-cross section of the J-11B. In terms of radar, the Su-30MKI has a clear advantage, and the MKI still retains a slight advantage in avionics despite major improvements to China's indigenous avionics industry. The MKI is also more maneuverable at subsonic speeds, though the J-11B has a superior climb-rate and better acceleration.

Russia is not selling most of their state of art weapon as she fears China capabilities and resources. Although, China had resolved the border dispute with Russian but Chinese control the economic in their far east border.

On the other hand, Russia can sell almost anything to India. They doubts India potential to challenge them.

Mr. grey boy 2, are you comparing J11 with SU-35 or SU-30MKI or SU-27 ? anyway let us conclude this way, all the mentioned Sukhoi variants fights with flying objects this not include engineless composite toy plan..

ironman; You can feel free to continue your deny mode;

I already made my points why China don't need SU-35 with supports.

PLease go ahead with your TYPICAL INDIANS LOSER

First of all if you need to operate J-11 you have to depend on Russia for engines and secondly SU-35 is not offered to China because of copyright issues with the J-11. Thirdly China has not matured enough to produce fighter aircraft engines and lastly stop derailing the thread with your superiority complex over Indians.

Totally Wrong, please research first then talk.:hitwall:

This is off-topic, but just for your education:
Glitches in Export of BrahMos Missiles | India Defence Online

Currently, India only makes the inertial navigation guidance system and fire control system of the BrahMos missile while Russia continues to contribute the crucial engine, booster and seeker.

Although, it seems likely that the Brahmos guy managed to steal/reverse engineer the Russian engine tech.

Is the SCO just talk, then? Or is there any substance?
