China rushing to beat US in the race to space

Btw, it could very well be that US astronauts had never landed on the Moon.
Neil Armstrong is a shiite Muslim.
Thus, US government has been distancing itself from Neil Armstrong, because he is a Muslim

Well if you believe the story he converted the second he stepped on the moon then you can't deny the moon landing happened. So you have to pick one or the other.

.
There's not much to respond to in your post, most of it is immaturity and circumventing which I can't be bothered with. Prove, with some quick calculations, that NASA can support Moon runs with a Saturn V (Because that's the only Moon rocket they have that has been operational, forget about the Senate Launch System), provided that they have to make a run less than every 3 months. I believe (I may be wrong), that NASA's budget was around $18b last year, but also keep in mind that the $1.8b is split between R&D, aeronautics etc.

That's why I moved onto the topic of engine efficiency, delta-v's Isp's (Specific Impulses) because space propulsion is the key limitation here, and the usa has YET to adopt an operational electromagnetic, nuclear or so on alternative source for propulsion. Right now, liquid and hybrid rockets cannot achieve Isp's of >10 seconds... Nuclear, which is not great, can hit 20 seconds (according to the Wiki table).

You can write whatever you want on moon radiation reflection, absorption, refraction. Whatever. Man, is this what you do? Realise you made a mistake and start circumventing around what you wrote? Here's where it all started:

LOL, you are indeed funny.

First , IT WAS YOU, that bring in the matter of "Efficiency" here, no one else. If you think the current way is not "Practical" to colonize moon and it have to bring efficiency into the discussion, then IT WAS YOU who need to show why the current method is impractical.

It's like you and me were talking about which club we are hitting, I told you one, you told me that's no good and suggested another. You are the one that should give the reason why, the burden of proof always lies on the accuser.

First of all, let me point out, the above which YOU wrote quite a bit earlier is absolutely gibberish. You see my case and point about you writing with bad English grammar? I mean, I might be understanding you correctly here, but what is the following supposed to mean???

Lastly, keep in mind all I was stating in my prior posts was that the moon had a thin layer of atmosphere, which would be capable to bounce off radiation. Hence, less than the radiation you would receive at vacuum at a similar distance from a star. This was all in regards to your moon having no atmosphere conjecture.

Bulls, as I told you, the atmosphere is not affecting the discussion in the topic of radiation, even if I admit I made a mistake that Moon did indeed have an atmosphere, that did not charged nor disprove the hard evidence that moon is radioactive.

The challenge to colonize the moon not because moon does not have a working atmosphere, rather the moon itself is radioactive. And your response is that the moon radiation is not much different than anywhere else in vacuum space.

Which is a fact that you does not even bother to engage. So, yes, moon does have an atmosphere, and I was wrong, so why the moon still radioactive? Can you explain that? If not, then your point is simply BS and cannot challenge my original point.

And as for the rest... Well, mainly insults... If you think my writing reflects that of someone from South East Asia, perhaps try Micronesia??? I did say I was half Samaon, did I not? Though you are clearly delusional if you think that, but nonetheless, whatever, let's make your racist side content, right? Truth is, your English is very distinctive of someone who just arrived, or been in what, Australia, America (Wherever your false flags represent) for less than a few years, and is also very indicative of someone who is trying hard to forget his lineage (Because you clearly said you were of a Chinese decent) because of the embarrassment it brings to you (This is what I'm observing).

The problem I have with you is not the fact that you try to hide behind a facade of insecurity of who you are, but because you clearly have no respect for those from your home country, just because you moved to the West, and you think you're better than them in any regard. I mean you may be a good guy here, but you sure present yourself like a real dick, and that's me being real.

Just because I came to the us to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering does not indicate what I see here will be the best until the end of time, and that it should make me forget that I am a Kiwi.

I think you still need to find yourself. Good luck guy..

By the way, no more long posts. You're killing me with your grammar when writing that long...

As oppose to the insult you throw at me?

But then first of all, Polynesia and Micronesia is not in South East Asia, they are in South Pacific or if you are sticking to the UN definition, Oceania. For a guy who claim to be a Samoan and claim to be a kiwi yet fail to know their country are in South Pacific is one word, shocking. But then you are no kiwi, nor Micronesian

You are a Chinese, no point hiding it, You type like a Chinese, your tone is like a Chinese, I know because I am also a Chinese, you know nothing about New Zealand and your English is second grade at best. (really, you cannot even insult me right, that alone saying something)

But hey, if it may you feel better, you can always say you are whatever.

.

Well, personally I think Mr. Neil Armstrong had it up to his nose for being continually forced to lie to American public for the fakey US Moon Landing.

It is simple to understand ... ...really ... ...
If US had been to the Moon 50 years ago, then the master of invader and plunderer USA shall occupy the Moon already by the year 2010. ~ Especially, majority of American can not stand being beaten by China.

If the South China Sea has already generated so much hysterical and belligerent response from US, then let's imagine China Taikonaut visit the Moon --- how do you think will these hysterical and belligerent US nation shall act ?

In fact, surprise, surprise ... ... USA the High Tech beacon of the Free world is retreating from the Moon farther and farther away. ~ USA the most advanced High Tech nation on Earth can NOT even go to Space, let alone the Moon.
All USA citizens should kiss Russia feet for letting US into space.

You do realize that China has acknowledged their satellites have detected the Apollo landing sites.

China publishes high-resolution full moon map - Xinhua | English.news.cn
"The scientists also spotted traces of the previous Apollo mission in the images, said Yan Jun, chief application scientist for China's lunar exploration project."

So I suggest you put that shame bag over your own head!

Also Indian satellites have spotted the sites too:

Estimate the cost per Apollo launch, and see it fits into NASA's current budget. I think the result is no... Done. Like usual, you turn things around on me, proven once again here. I've provided enough explanations in my prior posts. You, on the other hand, only return with irrelevant and poor analogies, which I don't bother to read anymore.

lol. just like this?

So for example. If I said estimating your through process, and I think you are an idiot. Done, you are an idiot. Does that make you an Idiot?

LOL, if this is how you argue, then I will tell you this is not good enough.

Actual calculation mean actual calculation, not just what you said.

I never said the moon was not radioactive, never did. If so, quote me on a post where I did. All I said was that you're wrong in saying the Moon does not have an atmosphere. It seems like you're jumping to conclusions here, similar to how you're accusing others of doing the same. How ironic.

Oh well, all these college money go down the drain.

Did I ever said you say moon was not radioactive? I said moon was radioactive, and you said I was wrong because the moon have atmosphere. I simply wondering how moon have an atmosphere have anything related to my point of moon is radioactive??

And you still have not said why after all these back and forth. That's saying something.

I didn't feel like it at first, but since you're here just insulting everyone, I thought why not show this guy how much of an as s he is.

Also, learn to read. You've been accusing others of their ability to read right? Seems like you got some work yourself. You said I wrote like someone from South East Asia. I said try Micronesia because I am half Samoan, since it's said that thousands of years ago, people from Samoa came from Micronesia (Whether this is true or not, I can't be positive).
Said the man with the very first post being a grammar nazi (Yet the funny thing is the same man supposed to have said this)

America lacks propulsion efficient enough shuttle enough people and enough resources with limited settlers back and forth

Well, MICRONESIA IS NOT IN SOUTH EAST ASIA........So what you being half Samoan have to do with what I said you being South East Asian?

Is it your random burst of point like the whole discussion? But then a look at the rest of your post, you can't even admit you are a Chinese, and keep insulting China, I think you have some sort of duality crisis, my advice? Seek help.

aw.this needs a time more than 50 years to become true.

US is actually on the cusp of a Space Renaissance! The Shuttle while very capable and without which the ISS would have only been a dream, was still a technological dead end in its own right. The rise of private companies in space flight in America, especially the fervor over SpaceX, and its world first of demonstrating a propulsive landing from orbit (with the goal of reusing said stage the next step), has sparked a renewed interest in space in the US, and over the next couple years we will hopefully see it bearing fruit as these companies disrupt the industry.:usflag:

oh my god.....

can you actually read English? The article in this OP article DOES NOT TALK ABOUT A SPACE RACE.

Read the article again in the opening. The TITLE of the Article

China's space missions in 2016 tied to military ambitions

The Heading of the article is

Is China's race to space a military ploy?

Where exactly did this article talk about a Chinese Space Race with the US? The article talked about the 20 launch in 2016 may have been Chinese plot to militarize space. It have nothing to do with any sort or form of space race. The only thing this article and OP title have the relation of space race is that the OP @beijingwalker misinterpret the article and thought it was a space race with the US.

Please do tell which "Big mouth" western Media going on and on about Chinese Space race?

Jesus, you are blind beyond control...

And LOL at you colonize the moon. As I said in #32, colonizing the moon is not simply send man into the moon to build something, read #32 again, and see how many box Chinese can tick off? NONE. You guys aren't even have man on the moon yet, how do you know which area to settle and what effect solar wind would carry out to the habitat?

And a final LOL, US 70s tech cannot colonize the moon? You do realise china did not even process the "US 70s Tech" now, you understand this right? You do not have a lunar module, you do not have a space shuttle which can transport large amount of cargo to and from moon. You do not have to technology to precice land on any spot you want on the moon, you aren't even landed anything on the moon that can be retrieved. lol In terms of technology, Chinese space tech would be roughly equivent to US in the late 50s and early 60s...

lol, you can think US "70s Technology" cannot land on the moon, but VOYAGER 1, build by the US in 1977, that's 70s technology, already BROKE THRU this solar system and now heading to another solar system. Did China have this "70s Technology" yet to break the escape velocity?

In terms of achievement, breaking the escape velocity of the sun and left this solar system are a lot bigger than people landing on the moon. Compare the 2, which both used 70s tech, which none of them Chinese have yet to achieve, and for them using 2016 tech too, that's kind of sad don't you think?

This just mean you have no knowledge in space tech at all........You do not even have those tech, let alone talk about a race.......
The OP original title "China rushing to beat US in the race to space " was NOT his wording. It is the tweet words of CNBC which direct people to the article. This is not the first time an article changed its title or used sensational title to lure reader. The point still stand. The OP did not use a false title but was simply copy/paste CNBA tweet title of the article.

As for the content of the article, like I said, the western insecurity and hype surrounding our space program with intention to draw it as a space race have been done before and people can draw parallel with this article even if this article is not talking specifically about a space race. We said before, we are not racing with anyone in space. Our program has a step-by-step process with no pressure on the timeline. Our current immediate goal is to test the capability of bringing moon soil back to earth. In 2020s, we will bring human to Moon. In 2030s, a settlement will be test place. Therefore our end goal is to possibly colonizing the moon in the 21st century.

And you are pretty stupid though. Just because we achieve the same milestone you achieved in 1960s, it doesn't mean we use the 1960s tech. That is like say a computer back then is the same as today computer. No, not at all, my friend. If you speak strictly in term of achievement, then you go to the moon before. But from a modern standpoint right now, nobody has any rocket power in operation that can land on the moon. For that, you will need to go back to the drawing board on Saturn V rocket. For us, we developed the Rocket Long March 9 to do the job but that is still projected to be in mid 2020s.

Lastly, my friend, I don't think you understand the difference between exploration and colonization. The US simply cannot have a permanent base in the moon with 1970s tech and knowledge. To make colonizing the moon permanently feasible, there is a lot of obstacles to be resolved. In fact, 4 main reasons: energy, sheltered, food supplies, and money. The US simply cannot send people to the Moon and every week send supplies to them. It will bankrupt your economy.

It does not matter. If YOU are attracted to the article for any reason, you are responsible for READING THE ARTICLE.

.
Just LoL.

For whatever reasons, it's had become dick measuring contest. Although it was clearly evident the US is preparing the next step toward exploration of space age. Land rover in Mars, first man in the moon, working international space station, exploring the Jupiter orbit, to name a few of their achievement oh not to mention to privatizing their space technologies.

It matters, my friend. My concern is the CNBC wording on their original title. A misleading title is a misleading title of CNBC regardless of what the content is about. They should NOT mislead people to begin with.

Yeah...YOU have no responsibilities whatsoever. All you need is a short blurb and that is all you need to know of complex issues.

My friend, I did read the content before I even posted. My issue is some brought up about the space race. That poster accused the OP of false title. My concern is that is not his wording but CNBC wording. To be fair, this is the fault of CNBC twitter staff.

.
I'm not going to talk about the article, but the actual fact of the space race.

All I can say is China is catching up fast. By 2025, the ISS will be decomissioned leaving the Chinese space station as the only one in orbit around the earth and China might land astronauts on the Moon by then. By accomplishing these achievements, other space technologies can be accomplished more efficiently like deep space traveling, space colonization, and space mining. You have to ask yourself, can the US do this in 2025? The obvious answer would be no since the US relies on Russian rockets to ferry its astronauts to the ISS and has no funding to conduct future space missions. The US did land a rover on mars and an orbiter on an asteroid, so its far ahead of China currently.

China is progressing at a rate faster than the US can progress in space, soon China will catch up unless the US speeds its progress in space.

.
I wonder if US is still capable of launching manned mission to the moon within a 5 year time frame if they desired. Their space capability hasn't fundamentally advanced for a few decades now.
