There was a time when China had enough sympathy in the Arab world to conduct effective influence campaigns but that time has passed since China's insensitive and crude repression of the Uyghurs and increasing Islamophobia coming from both China's govt. and society.

China does not know how to interact with and communicate with people of other cultures and that will be the major wall to its soft power projection. You can only use your wallet and some bullshit "win win" slogan so many times.

It's too subjective to say all Muslims support the Uyghurs I think most Arabs are too busy preoccupied with many terrible political situations in their regions in Pakistan I would say its also the same the folks that tend to focus on the Uyghurs more are the Turks and mainly western diaspora Muslims even before in terms of soft power from East Asia its Korea and Japan
