No, Japan is opportunist. If you watch their history closely since Meiji era, Japan was the American ally in many war. They joined the American war against Qing Dynasty, then they were on US side in world war 1. But then suddenly backstab US in World War 2. So it is not surprising if they act like US ally again now. Who know, when US become weakened, and they have an opportunity to militarist themselves again, they will betray US again like in World War 2. Everything depend on the flow of current geopolitics.

In fact, few might have noticed this but Japanese PM Shinzo Abe is one of the true patriots of his country. He is working to uplift Japanese armed forces and he is also a critic of Article 9 of the current Japanese constitution.

In the coming years, Japan might be in the position to send a message to those who took advantage of its defeat in WW2 such as Russian takeover of kuril islands.

Legitimate concerns of any country should be respected. Being subservient to another is no quality.

Japan and China have bilateral relations of their own by the way.

But no - Japan will remain on friendly terms with US - will not ruin this dynamic for the sake of another country. US have significant reach and clout in the Pacific. You do not create more enemies when you have regional challenges to attend to.

Different countries have different realities, issues, and considerations.

One country cannot enjoy undisputed support from all corners of the world.

Let us be mature in our criticism. Cheerleading does not earn one global renown and respect. WE risk loosing our sense of objectivity otherwise. Bigger reality is that Pakistan has to maintain and manage relations with numerous countries. WE need to respect (all) countries who have significant contributions in Pakistani economy.

Political disputes notwithstanding, our Chinese friends have dealings with the entire world. This is how nations develop and progress. Do not forget this lesson.
