China is ready to work with Pakistan to complete a long-term plan by this year-end to build a bilateral economic corridor, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Thursday .

In a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference, Li said the two countries agreed to make building of the corridor the focus of bilateral practical cooperation, Xinhua reported.

And the consensus is conducive to forging a China-Pakistan "community of shared destiny", Li added.

The corridor connecting Kashgar in China's Xinjiang Uygur Region to the southwestern Pakistani port of Gwadar was proposed in an agreement between the two countries reached during Li's visit to Pakistan in May 2013.

China will also work with Pakistan to provide financial support for the construction of the corridor, he said, adding that the country would like to enhance cooperation with Pakistan on the fight against terrorism, and hopes Pakistan will provide security for Chinese organisations and personnel in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Sharif said Pakistan is ready to further strategic cooperation with China and noted the relationship with China is the "cornerstone" of Pakistan's diplomacy and the two countries are all-weather and long-tested friends.

And I Sultan of Americanland, am ready to build an Economic Corridor with Pakistan.

Easier said than done.

I don't know if you are reading this for the first time bro. But there is about 100 - 150 billion dollar worth of activity in works. The magnitude of such massive activity has never been seen in the entire history of Pakistan. In fact, some work has already started to evangelize the energy and transportation system.....I watch emerging countries for business strategy. If you have any interest in the economy, etc, you should know the investors all stoked about development in Pakistan. Some of their energy related projects will start to show results by the year end or early next year. Over the next three years, I think the power shutdowns will be 80 to 90% gone. The work is being done under international monitoring and auditing. Just in the past two years, over 5 billion dollars worth of projects have finished without corruption at the higher level (Which used to be THE source of corruption till the current government took charge). So good stuff coming for Pakistan. They need to work on fixing the religious intolerance and talibanization that exists in certain parts of their country. That fixed and the country modernize, you are looking at an investment heaven. Just in the past 14 months, their stock market has doubled and stock holders have made 20% returns easy (in some cases, up to 35% returns). So again, they fix their religious intolerance and Taliban bullshi*t, the country will grow like crazy over the next 20 years with great investment returns for all

China wanted to prepare a joint feasibility of common parameters for the development projects of Pak-China Economic Corridor. The federal government had set 30th June 2014 as deadline to concerned authorities for preparing a feasibility report for the construction of Lahore-Karachi Motorway, the sources added. They said that the Prime Minister had already approved the alignment of the Economic Corridor starting from Khunjerab Pass and ending at Gwadar and Lahore-Karachi Motorway.

The sources said that a new Motorway from Multan to Sukkur would be initiated in the first phase. Two projects, components of the Economic Corridor – Karakoram Highway and Multan-Sukkur portion – were approved in the second meeting of the Joint Co-operation Committee (JCC) of Pak-China Economic Corridor. China State Construction Engineering Corporation and Frontier Works Organisation of Pakistan would jointly work for the construction of these two projects.

A new road link from Islamabad to Khunjerab would also be constructed under Pak-China Economic Corridor. A railway line from Rawalpindi to Khunjerab is also planned to be laid. The sources said that Pakistan would benefit in terms of security and revenue from Pak-China optic fibre project and for this project, $40 million had been provided by Chinese telecom firm Huawei.

The project would be completed within a span of two years, the sources said adding that successful implementation of the project would provide Pakistan with a direct telecom access to China and the Central Asian States. The project would also facilitate trade, tourism and IT in the region and generate economic opportunities particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan. The sources said that 22,000 MW extra would be generated due to Chinese investment in various energy projects. For this propose, Gadani Power Projects would be the first priority.

Good going by Pakistan! This would also provide employment opportunities to thousands of Pakistanis.

It's high time India follows suit and recommences construction of stalled projects.

Such a long road ahead. I wish we had to started this journey 20 years ago and now we would be a bric nation.

But instead we have to wait till 2045 till we can call ourselves "developed".

Electricity deficit ended by 2018.

7% growth till 2030.

6-9% growth till 2045.

Thats the roadmap and there will be a lot of people who would not live to see this moment which is very saddening.

I live in islamabad.....and they are expanding KASHMIR HIGHWAY from 2 to 6 Rows (Roads are made-up of pure Cement with Iron Rods) .....which leads to Silk Road
