But again under WW2 surrender terms, Japan's is only a DEFENSIVE force & can't attack any other nation.

I guess the Japanese need to understand that such an escalation in crisis like this is not good for them or China or even India. They should embrace politics to clear out the air at least.

Bro....why do you think China haven't attacked Taiwan till now?? Taiwan, Japan, SK, Australia are under Defense/Nuclear cover of US. Yes, a China-US war is unimaginable in 21st century but US is bound by it's laws to protect the sovereignty of these nations.

I believe the Chinese can win the war against the Japs, but when you factor in the Japanese Mutual Defense Pact with the US things change dramatically, I doubt the US will get into such a conflict which has potential US involvement......

on paper, China has more personnel, warships, missiles and jets, but it does not mean Japan will be easily defeated. Don´t forget Japan has the second most powerful army in East Asia behind China. The Japanese are very tough fighters.

Besides, since the end of WWII, there is no large scale naval/air battle between great powers. So nobody can predict the outcome, should it come to a full blow between China and Japan in the dispute.

Means Military in support or in contingent with politics.

War would happen, not for a fired shot, but for a political inevitability.

War being part of politics, that's a win, but if politics happened because of war, then that's stupid and a fail. TO ALL VIETNAM MEMBERS, this is why we don't attack you guys, it would be a stupid move, because the pace would have been dictated by a far inferior enemy. We go to war, when the political conditions are right, not for the sake of it.

China will not go to war if US is all in, but like all things, nothing is for certain. People in Beijing has been working hard on making this a reality, and I believe it will happen. But a lot of things are still unclear, so, we can't know for sure, how everything will pan out.

However, the economic and political war has already began, to the winner goes all the spoils, and to the winner, one of the prize is the chance to go to war to claim or retain the heavyweight championship of the world.

Actually they made the same mistake as the chinese during WW2: relying on the westerners for protection
