China ranked world 9th in IP index

The position of China's intellectual property has further improved, according to the "2014 China intellectual property development report" released by the State Intellectual Property Office.
The report shows that in 2014, China's comprehensive intellectual property development index stood at 63.74, 0.98 up from 2013. The creation, application and protection of IP have improved, with all the relevant indexes growing steadily. The number of IP applications and registrations grew substantially in 2014, and the number of legal cases involving intellectual property also increased.
A new "intellectual property comprehensive development index" was created in the report, to compare China with other countries in terms of comprehensive IP development. The statistics show that from 2008 to 2013, China rose rapidly in the ranking. Among the 40 sample countries, China's rank has been risen from 19th to 9th.
