You really have no idea about Iphone manufacturing, how can Germany be in the list?
There are many components of Iphone are from Chinese companies now, you have to update your knowledge.
For example, AAC Technologies produces cutting-edge micro audio component for Iphone, Samsung, blabla, its profit rate is even higher than Iphone.

China has mainly firmware/embedded systems engineers geared towards low level software in C language and assembly for the PC gear and networking equipment you make. India has all other software like dtatbase, ERP, Java, C#. So India is much stronger in international standard software for business applications. China is stronger for device level software (like drivers) that supports its manufacturing of PCs and networking gear.

Even to make a **** website requires software. But that does not qualify china to be software giant. Even in manufacturing, China is a service provider. Not the creator nor inventor of stuff. So Please try to realize the facts and stay in reality.

China also have many database, ERP companies. It also have companies similar to Infosys, like Neusoft, but the main customers are Japan and Korea due to language barrier, so its revenue are not that big as India. But with the soaring wages of China which approaches Japan and Korea, oversea software outsourcing industry in China is declining, but local IT services and software outsourcing is still huge.

really? you could atleast have made simple google searches before this rather foolish post. Take a look at this study which found China's share is 1.8% for ipad and 2% for iphones. Almost ALL parts and material are imported into China from various European and Asian manufacturers. And they are assembled by Foxconn in China which is owned by Taiwan I think. The local supplies and tools is why generously added a 1% and said 3%.

If labor rates go up iPhone manufacture will simply move elsewhere.

and what part of the Corning story I posted negate this? There are over 300 Chinese suppliers for Apple and there will be more/less as they negotiate pricing for each model and version. The value that China contributes/is paid is what we are discussing and that is 2 to 3 %

looks like you really need to educate yourself on manufacturing, assembling et al. Suppliers does NOT mean they make it. For example Foxcon is located in China and assembles iphones - they are therefore a key member of the supply chain. But they are shipped parts from all over the globe.

I am not going to try and sort out differences between news items. iPhones 6 has been out and it has shipped with gorilla glass. Gorilla glass is made by Corning. This is well known and if you doubt it, knock yourself out searching.
