What's new

China puts TRACKING CHIPS in school uniforms to watch pupils every move

I didn't know that.

In India, among college students, it is not uncommon to have

And this is what I am talking about. it's a sad and preventable loss of precious life. Education should be intertwined with mental health. It's not that people are smart or stupid, its just that they learn differently and schools only cater to one type of brain structure.

.
People get wrong impression, this tracking chips actualy for school to gathers metadata from students activity.
when the students grade drop, they can track their activity and analyze what's wrong with the kids

.
Good god...

What's more amusing is Chinese posters think it is a great news.

@Nilgiri what do you think? I'm confused whether these ideas and the mindset to find these ideas as 'necessary' will lead to an utopian or dystopian society.

@jamahir your input too, my socialist bro.

Actually, it is a good idea for under age Kids. And you will agree if you have kids yourself. That's because the tracking device is not only to watch over your kid, but also their safety. When bad guys kidnap your kid, the police can use the tracking device to save him / her immediately; and easily. And if your kid is lost some where, you can find him / her quickly, before his / her life is in danger.

Its antithetical to me. You know me, I value the individual first and foremost.

But China can be another sobering lesson in putting top down state control if it so desires... the Chinese people in the end are responsible in making their voices heard. It might take a long while though...given just what was taken out of the Chinese during the century of humiliation....assuaging and rectifying that generally takes first precedence (among human nature) before the more deeper questions can truly be grappled with by society.

So either... No one is a Parent...or no one was a child... or both...

You've got those who mix Tracking your child with avoiding Bad influence...(Like if you know with who he is...)
You've got those who think Tracking your child will save him (Like if his heart stop beating you guys are superman and can get there in 1sec... or that you can get "Data" to see if his ina fight or not...)
You've got those who think the child understand nothing... (As if you child is stupid and don't understand that you re watching...How do you think Kids grow? )

Quite Frankly... Some minds around here are "Fabulous".

It's like those Parents who throw their kid at school or the Best schools and think they gonna be educated...
FFS... if you don't wish to spare or do your Parent job in Educating your kid...no need to sacrifice other Parents kids for the sake of your inability...

After that it will be Middle School the High School then Students and then Workers.. with tracking and what will be the excuse ? Adults may not find their way Home? Bad influence? played too much Pokemon...

A young Child let's say primary school SHALL NOT go home ALONE with or without Tracking... that's the school duty or YOUR duty as a Parent to take him... So Why the heck of a need of a tracking device at that age?

Do you have any kids yourself?

A kid was kidnapped when she was with her mother. As a father, this matter concern me a lot. And both Tracking Watch and smartphones are already well known by everyone. So the kidnappers can immediately notice them and throw them away from the kid body.

Look... You know that "External tracking Device" are useless when such events happen... The guy just spot it in the minutes after the actions and throw it out...
The only way to "follow" is under skin device... only that can help in this case...

Not necessarily true. A tracking device in your kid's clothes is harder to be noticed; and harder to be stripped off from the victim. Specially when they're still on the road.

Btw, are you suggesting that we should do nothing to protect our child? I don't know how Turks value their children. You can say big with any religious and freedom jargon. But if you don't concern about your kids safety. Then this discussion is pointless. Because we have different value on this subject.

In my Job... I already saw Criminals and they know what to search...
Few years ago... A group cut the ear of a woman because she had a tracking transplant... and they found it by scanning her with a "vet equipment for Dogs/cats"

Now, you're a police, LOL. Yes, everyone pretend to be soldiers, pilots, scientists, spy, and now police in PDF. It's become old, you know. And it become a pointless discussion when one party pretend to be someone that they're not, to win something that not necessarily need to be won. Because it is no longer a discussion, but a troll banter.

You don't need to defend your claim. Because it won't change my mind at all. And I stop our discussion right now, because I see that it is pointless to continue it with someone who don't want to discuss but only to win.

India doesn't care about their children and children can become homeless strays, In China every child is precious and we want to make sure that they are always safe.
We do the same in Canada too. We like to track and know where they are. We keep them sheltered and safe. We never let them stray.

Only 'they' are pets or farm animals.

Actually it much easier. Put a piece of aluminium foil around the sensor and you are done. This was introduced with mobile phones to prevent theft among many things, using a BLE connection. Thieves started putting phones in metallic bags.

If you are putting such sensors as a public policy then yes, a determined and habitual perpetrator will know what to remove.

When bad guys kidnap your kid, if this were a policy, they will first remove the coat or shirt where-ever the sensor is embedded.

It feels more like 'educating' kids to accept state controls from a young age.

BTW, did it occur to people that the same tracking device could be used to track children by those who should not be tracking. You know 'kidnappers' and similar folks.
