beautiful...this vessel can be a great use for PN

In the upper pic, i thought those marines soldiers are poles lol

When it is formally handed to the Philippine Navy, the ship has the most firepower in their entire surface fleet.
It is armed with Exocets, Harpoons, not including the primary gun - OTO Melara 76 mm.

If the ROKN were to give an additional 2 of these to the PN, it would triple the firepower of the PN.

Sigma has a weight over 1650 ton (empty weight) and can reach 1800 ton at combat weight, and they are not our largest surface combatant vessel as Ahmad Yani class (Van Speijk class) can reach more than 3200 ton in combat duty. The second largest is training Frigate Ki Hajar Dewantara, her weight is more than 2000 ton.

OT: so is it confirmed that the Philippines will be acquiring the Makassar class LPD?

@Genesis ,

I believe both of us touched on this said incident in a previous conversation. ^^,
don't remember that, but either way, don't care about this move. If South Korea wants to do this than do it.

The thing that makes Philippines weak isn't weapons......

China's type 056 corvettes alone can wipe out the entire Viet and Pinoy Navies. Even Japan only has 6 Aegis-type destroyers, the rest of the Jap Navy is outdated junk that won't survive a single Chinese anti-ship missiles. China has hundreds of anti-ship missiles that can be delivered from land, air and ship. As for Jap submarines, their subs are very noisy.

You have forgotten already? :woot:

Wow they really have a good heart for donating that to Philippines for free.

They donated this corvette, and selling 12 of these to the Philippine Air Force, whilst at the same time "embracing China as a brother". Very sound strategy for the Koreans. Impressive, I will say. ^^,
