China, Pakistan released poisonous gas to pollute India: BJP leader
"Since PM Modi and Amit Shah came, Pakistan has become frustrated"

Web Desk November 06, 2019 08:22 IST

A BJP leader on Tuesday blamed Pakistan and China for the rising levels of pollution witnessed in Delhi and the NCR over the past few days. "Ye jo zehreeli hawa aa rahi hai, zehreeli gas aayi hai ho sakta hai kisi bagal ke mulk ne chhodi ho jo humse ghabraya hua hai. (There is a possibility that this poisonous gas could have been released by any neighbouring country which is afraid of us.) I feel that Pakistan or China are afraid of us," Vineet Agarwal Sharda told ANI. "Whenever Pakistan fought a war with India, it was defeated. Since PM Modi and Amit Shah came, Pakistan has become frustrated," he said, reported the agency.

As the air quality in Delhi-NCR hovered between "severe" and "very poor" category, a review of pollution in northern India by the Centre on Tuesday found no let up in crop stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana notwithstanding the clampdown by the Supreme Court to combat toxic air.

The pollution situation was also reviewed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after the Supreme Court ordered an immediate and complete stop to stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh blamed for 46 per cent of the pollution in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).

Punjab reported the winter season's highest farm fire count at 6,668 as farmers defied the apex court order.

According to satellite data collected by Punjab Remote-Sensing Centre, Sangrur and Bathinda were the worst-affected districts with the highest number of farm fire incidents of 1,007 and 945 on a single day, respectively.

Small growers were of the view that it was economically unviable for them to buy farm machinery like happy seeder, rotavators, super straw management system on combine harvesters etc.

. . . . . . .
They always find excuses to blame someone else

Causes of poor air quality
  • Lack of active monitoring and reaction by authorities.
  • Overpopulation.
  • Lack of political priority.
  • Motor vehicle emissions are one of the causes of poor air quality. Other causes include wood-burning fires, fires on agricultural land, exhaust from diesel generators, dust from construction sites, burning garbage and illegal industrial activities in Delhi.
  • The Badarpur Thermal Power Station, a coal-fired power plant built in 1973, is another major source of air pollution in Delhi. Despite producing less than 8% of the city's electric power, it produces 80 to 90% of the particulate matter pollution from the electric power sector in Delhi.During the Great smog of Delhi in November 2017, the Badarpur Power Plant was temporarily shut down to alleviate the acute air pollution, but was allowed to restart on 1 February 2018. In view of the detrimental effect to the environment, the power plant has been permanently shut down since 15 October 2018
  • The drift/mist emissions from the wet cooling towers is also a source of particulate matter as they are widely used in industry and other sectors for dissipating heat in cooling systems.
  • Although Delhi is kerosene free and 90% of the households use LPG for cooking, the remaining 10% uses wood, crop residue, cow dung, and coal for cooking. (Census-India, 2011)
  • Fire in Bhalswa landfill is a major reason for airborne particles in Delhi.
  • Heavy metal rich fire-crackers
  • Agricultural stubble burning also affects Delhi's air quality when crops are being harvested.

Effects on children

2.2 million children in Delhi have irreversible lung damage due to the poor quality of the air.

Air pollution in India is estimated to kill about 1.5 million people every year; it is the fifth largest killer in India. India has the world's highest death rate from chronic respiratory diseases and asthma, according to the WHO. In Delhi, poor quality air irreversibly damages the lungs of 2.2 million or 50 percent of all children.

After this statement indian media (Controlled by BJP/RSS) will be blaming Pakistan & China During Prime time Programmes -_ -

I can't believe that Indian politicians blame all faults on China and Pakistan, with this mentality, how can they manage to get the problems fixed. A government should be there for fixing problems and finding solutions, not playing blaming games.
who want to solve the problems? when 1 billion plus indian baboons are happy with what ever they are feeded with by indian state with no freedom or will to ask RSS govt or proves.

Pakistan and China just shut the border with Indian as soon we will see spillover effect from there.

Indian democracy is about assigning blames. So the people won’t have to assume responsibility. As its always other’s fault. No wonder India will always be the Supa Powa of tomorrow.
