china is the only country on the top 30 who is not a high income country. but i still think this ranking is a bull shit, which dumps many totally innovation-unrelated parameters into the evaluation process. that's why u see russian ranks lower than thailand, japan lower than hongkong, and malta and cypruss are very top on innovation, what the hell do they innovate, anybody know?

This data relates to per capita GDP,but not too much..
Of course,if India develops a lot in economy.It will also go up a lot.
