Couple of things here.
1. Your statement about Pakistan not existing if India had settled its dispute with China definitely raised my eyebrows. Could you elaborate? Because China never really provided extensive support to Pakistan during any of the Indo Pak Wars. Not to mention, India never tried to destroy Pak, it was Pakistan that tried to vapture Kashmir.
India was an existential threat to Pakistan after 1971. Without nuclear technology provided by China, India would have overwhelmed Pakistan, breaking it into smaller more manageable states. I believe in Indian intentions of not absorbing Pakistan because you can't, you don't want an additional few hundred million Muslims. The same reason why you did not absorb Bangladesh. Islam poses an existential threat to Hindus.
2. The area near the Plateau is not plains. Sikkim is a mountainous state, in fact there are peaks even higher than doklam right behind the plateau. There is no way China can cut off those roads(there are more than one) leading to Doklam. Not to mention India now has air support in that region. No need to worry, India's position in Doklam is quite secure. The reason India started the standoff had nothing to do with its own security, but was as a response to china violating Bhutan's territory. Like I said, India succeeded in protecting Bhutan's territory, and even jointly patrols with Bhutan on the Bhutanese portion as it had before. Nothing had changed in that regard. And like I said before, China had every right to build a base on doklam as long as it was in ITS OWN territory, I don't know why it took a standoff for that to happen.
Sikkim is not a plain but the area below it is and that is where alot of Indian military is situated. There is only ONE road leading to Doklam plateau from India, can you show me another one using google maps?
. And you think we don't have air support? That's another debate all together. How can you protect Bhutan when we have just literally occupied the whole plateau? Can you show me evidence of Bhutanese patrolling inside the plateau? If you told me before this, I would have agreed, after such a big blunder, I wouldn't think they dare patrol next to Chinese bases right? It is IN DISPUTED TERRITORY, see the map. Are you really trying so hard to save face? Be objective and see the real situation. We are 5km deep inside disputed Doklam.
3. Why should China feel worried about Indian troops in NE India? They are mostly for dealing with domestic insurgencies, but can of course be deployed in case of emergency.
When did I said we were worried. Every action has a reaction, after you try to play hero, of course we would militarize to prevent further shit from happening in the future and India would also do the same. That's why you shouldn't have did such a thing in the first place. Protest through proper channels should have suffice, you basically destabilized a demarcated area and threatened peace. As usual, the Indian incompetence at it's finest.
4. you yourself stated China has no intention of attacking India, so why should India feel worried about the Tibetan Railway? India has already connected AP to mainland india by rail via the Silguir corridor, and we have airbases all along the border, including one we just built in Doklam.
I said we have no intention for the foreseeable future but I can't predict the future. If I am an Indian analyst, the rail from Sichuan is the biggest strategic threat. My friend, DO YOU ACTUALLY KNOW WHERE IS DOKLAM AND THE SIZE OF DOKLAM. There is no air bases there genius, how can you make an airbase on a cliff side.
Your little base does not threaten India as it controls the higher peaks, and we have greater capability to mobilize because our troops are not as far away as yours. And we also built a new base, as well as an airbase.
The Indian army routinely does joint patrols with Bhutan, including along Doklam. That's how it was before the standoff, that is how it is today. Nothing has changed.
Again I told you, your troop mobilization through a cliff side road is really fragile. The only way is using helicopters, now how many helicopters you have that can fly at that altitude? Go check your heli specs and the capacity per helicopter. Higher peaks? As I told you before we are also controlling higher ground. The point is the flat land below those peaks are strategic in nature, we can bombard Siliguri from there. You patrol in Doklam? hahahah. The moment you cross that border, you will be shot my man. OMG, what are you smoking.
The Chinese are within their own territory, not Bhutanese territory claimed by China.
Ignorance is bliss, I told you check the maps and not live in some make believe world of victory. What makes you think China will just surrender easily? They must get something in return for peace. The deal was Indian retreat and defacto annexation of Doklam vs temporary suspension of the 1km road. Fair deal to me. In the old days Indian and Bhutan soldiers frequently cross that border to patrol. Now it's Chinese territory.
