China on way to self reliance in 28-nm chips; to attain maturity in 14-mm category as well

Where gunpowder is used in space technology?
And space technology was also originally made by prisoner German scientists.

It used to be a rocket fuel.

US only ban CN getting 7nm chips tech, so no surprise when CN can make even 10mn chips, even Intel chips factories in VN also can make the same

Intel increases Vietnam chip investment by nearly 50%

U.S. chipmaker Intel injected $475 million into its Vietnam division, its biggest chip assembly and testing site globally, even as the company looks set to outsource more production and risks being eclipsed by the more advanced technology of rivals.
Intel Products Vietnam used the funds, a nearly 50% increase from previous investments, to manufacture 5G products and core processors, the company said Wednesday. The expansion was to help it “take on more complex technologies” and diversify beyond the central processing units at the heart of its business, Intel said.

It is about technology independence also. That means China has arrived on technology independency for 28nm, while US may not.

Dont equate them; Intel doesnt belong to Vietnam, SIMC is China's indigenous fab.

Intel cant even save themselves.

Space technology concept is same as rocket. Rocket is invented by Chinese. I think I do not need to tell u that.

The first gunpowder-powered rockets evolved in medieval China under the Song dynasty by the 13th century. The Mongols adopted Chinese rocket technology and the invention spread via the Mongol invasions to the Middle East and to Europe in the mid-13th century.

Probably but Chinese did not master gunpowder that was done by the Ottoman Turks

The first confirmed reference to what can be considered gunpowder in China occurred in the 9th century AD during the Tang dynasty, first in a formula contained in the Taishang Shengzu Jindan Mijue (太上聖祖金丹秘訣) in 808, and then about 50 years later in a Taoist text known as the Zhenyuan miaodao yaolüe (真元妙道要略).[11] The Taishang Shengzu Jindan Mijue mentions a gunpowder formula composed of six parts sulfur to six parts saltpeter to one part birthwort herb.[11] According to the Zhenyuan miaodao yaolüe, "Some have heated together sulfur, realgar and saltpeter with honey; smoke and flames result, so that their hands and faces have been burnt, and even the whole house where they were working burned down.

Intel plant in Vietnam is a packaging and testing plant. None of the chips there started in Vietnam.

Just because China invented gunpowder does not mean China Mastered gunpowder

Gun powder is mastered by the Ottoman Turks

Its profit is UP by 12% Thanks to Royalties collected for the use of Huawei 100,000 patent rights.

That is what Harvard MBA program is all about? Profit.

What do you mean by "mastered" gunpowder?

He spends all his entire useless life - trolling.
Spewing nonsense.

Example. A kid thinks he has master the art of masturbation but that doesn't means that the kid has grown up. He is still yearning for his mother milk every moment.

To many of us esp. me it is just amusing.

It is like watching the speedrunner cartoon.
Entertaining.

Never to be taken seriously.

:sarcastic::sarcastic::sarcastic:

We can says: The ancient Chinese master the art of gunpowder for peaceful use e.g. firework dusplays.

The rest copied it and turned into it into a destructive killing powder.

old Chips tech (28nm) can BUY, just like car-phone's tech, nothing special, only guys who cant even make 3G phone like u dont know that :pop:

Yes, assembly means the chips are already finished in the US then assembled into modules in Vietnam.

Chip assembly is still high tech but lower tech than fabrication. Vietnam doesn't have a fab while China has an Intel fab for years that was cutting edge when it was planned (Intel Dalian), one of many fabs in China both foreign and domestic.

Its easy to buy 28nm chips before Covid happend, and VN aslo dont suffer chips ban like CN, so we just dont invest much on chips tech yet.

btw, we still can buy 28nm chip tech like buying BMW's license to produce car if needed. Nothing special abt 28nm chips tech

really? do you know how many companies have 28 nm chip tech? 8: Intel, Samsung, TSMC, UMC, SMIC, Huali, ST Micro, Global Foundries. That's not many companies. Which of them have ever sold their process tech? None.

Do you know what most chips use today? 130 nm. Most chips aren't CPUs. They're power, analog, etc. Vietnam doesn't even have a 130 nm fab. How are you going to buy a 28 nm fab? No one will sell to you.

Do you know how much it costs to build a fab? Just for the buildings and the equipment, not including cost to license? $10 billion for a 28 nm fab.
